I enjoy the gimmick. Are they essentially ripping off BOC and to a lesser degree King Diamond? Yeah, pretty much.

But its fun and I don't take it seriously at all. Not a huge fan, but I throw on their stuff at work in the mornings sometimes cause its musically some of the tamest stuff in my amazon player. And the lyrics are lulzy as hell.

Can't get into it.. ok, the image is kinda cool, but also kinda gay.. lol. Nice hat.. hah.

Vocals are weak and the music just isn't dark enough. I guess i can hear the BoC comparison, but no way Mercyful fate. Besides the"evil" makeup of King, musically fate was league's beyond this.

I would actually compare them more musically to Danzig. The first 4 Danzig records, specifically the first one, was hugely influential to me as a kid. Danzig was simple blues rock riffing and music, but there was a darkness that was present in the music. I like that vibe in the music i listen to. And you don't need to be the heaviest players or have the sickest rig, etc to achieve that. In fact, there needs to be more of that dark sounding rock.music. i do enjoy it. . But that dark feel is simply either in you as a person and a band or its not. And i don't hear it in Ghost. Its not heavy, which is fine, but it doesn't feel dark which is why i don't get it. watching them play in those outfits looks and feels way too gimmicky considering i don't get any of those visuals from the music. Some of their intros and interludes fit the vibe, so whoever is creating those parts gets it, but the standard rock songs they do just isn't grabbing my attendion and fitting of their image..
