Ghost

They are a very polarizing band. I've found that people either love them or absolutely hate them, with no in between. I happen to love them, and they are my favorite current band. I figured I'd share some of my favorite videos of them that you guys may not have seen before.

Rock in Rio 2013 - Full proshot show

A buddy told me to check this band out a while back and to listen to a couple songs, I ended listening to the whole record. I dig the music, but the look......eh, I really don't care for it.

when i first checked them out and saw their aesthetic, i loved it. and they did this intro that sounded so satanic it actually stirred me a bit. but upon hearing their music, to me its like kiss. look evil, sound relatively tame.

that isnt to see i dislike the music. but its like a woman showing up in leather lingerie and a whip and just wanting to play checkers.

Ghost is ok, but every time I listen to them I think....wow...this sounds just like certain Blue Oyster Cult record, but with weaker vocals & guitar leads.

Think I'll stick with BOC

When I first saw a picture of that band, I really wanted them to be awesome. Big disappointment. I agree with the BOC comparison, and I do not like BOC.

Ya I don't get them. Rather listen to Blood Ceremony (which is really Jethro Tullish but remind me of BOC too).

No.

Something about them just hits me all sorts of wrong. So hugely overhyped. They have a cool gimmick, and I was first introduced to them with a live vid from a friend that was practically losing his fucking mind over them when he passed it to me. The intro build was amazing and I'm thinking, "holy fuck, this is gonna kick serious ass." And then they started to play. And the blah hit hard. You can't pull an intro like that and not BRING it right off. Just meh.

So yeah, fuck the band, fuck the singer, and fuck those stupid outfits.

Ghost is very polarizing for me as well. I like their music. Hate Papa's voice. He is a very unconventional singer and sometimes that works. For a guy with no dynamic range what so ever, he always sounds like shit live. I mean he doesn't even have to try to be a good vocalist and his pitch is all over the place. I could see it if they were actually interesting to watch but to me it's a huge gimmick. It is working VERY well for them and I am lime green Jello with envy.

Love the guitar tones and feel of the music just not what you'd call a fan.

I really hate this band. Stupid gimmick, music sounds like supremely watered down retro/stoner rock. I feel offended on behalf of boc for the constant comparisons.

I think they are good players and the stage getup is all in good fun. To me the vocal melodies are well written and the anti Christian lyrics are a big plus.

Pretty much this.
I love the gimmick but the music is weak as balls, especially in contrast to the gimmick.
I'd love if they were actually great and sounded like what they look like.

So is the singer always wearing a prosthetic mask or only when not wearing the skull makeup?
