Yes, the 2nd Bogren one was the best. The Mesa ones all have a mic in the wrong spot, distant blanketed sort of sound.

Raf give the York stuff a shot, think you'll dig em.

They have a Mesa 2x12 pack that's like 5 of them and it's $1.

That pack sent me down the York Audio path, and even Billy liked them. I bought the Mesa 4x12, Bogner 4x12 and the VHT Fat Bottom cab packs based on the strength of what showed up in that one.

So which pack do you like the best? I’m leaning toward the Mesa v30, but curious about the bogner and vht too.

York are prolly the best IRs to my ears. Not saying others don’t get there but his are consistently really close. The Bogner v30 will likely be up your alley. I like that one a lot

Toss up between the Mesa and the Bogner.

Even that $1 pack is really good.

The VHT pack isn’t my favorite, they sound sort of hollow compared to the others.

EDIT: I think Faka used the Bogren in the last drum jam if you want to hear it.

FKN A Raf, its sounding damn good man. Are you dialing in with a cab first then unplug and record silent? Or Dialing in silent with the IR over monitors?

As for the York, I only picked up like 3 or 4 packs but pretty much stick to the bogner ones Endtime mentioned...

Appreciate the input. I just bought the Mesa and Bogner packs.

I am sorta dialing in both. I guess I have the settings I've been on for the past few days, then plugged DI and tweaked just the low end a tiny bit.

Alright, I like these YA IRs even more than the Bogrens. I loaded up a few of each into the Mesa after going through with the line out trying to figure out which ones I liked the best. Here is the Bogna 412 Mix 05 cab. I like this one a lot.

EDIT: Re-reading the 4579 page manual again, and it does say the amp has a build in reactive load for silent recording. It seems to imply I can just unplug the speaker cable, but I don't see this spelled out explicitly...

hmmm..... It says "Internal Load Active When Speakers Disconnected" right under the fucking speaker jacks :cop: :cop:

Yeah the bogner IR is prolly my fave. I forget which “mix” IRs I like but I found just the single mic 57, I think the “2nd” 57 IR is the one I use most. Just seems to have the most live mic sounding high end.

I agree about those first couple of 57 ones. They sounded the most "real".
