The kemper is the first of the modellers that I've ever gassed for. I'd love to have a tinker with one to try out some sludge and doom tones through one. If it could nail those, which I'm sure it can, I'd love to pair one to a stupid high power SS power amp.

It's the first of the modelers that has stayed in my house. SNAX was ok but not great. I like the software for the SNAX and stuff like that but the tone just didn't do it for me and it wasn't just having to do with the patch or anything like that, just the overall sonic structure did not sit right with me the way the kemper does.

It's the same 600w as the rack.

Oh LAWD

It is required to send the Profiler to the manufacturer to install the amp safely.

I can kind of understand it. There are so many retards out there, that companies pretty much have to assume everyone is. You know you'd get some idiot that would be poking around with a screwdriver in there and shock himself. Then he'd sue the company.

It's all about the money. Just figuring out what I need to get rid of and what I should keep. I have to wait till next year to get the kemper as I am going back to college and moving so I'll need money for that.....

They are. Retail is $2730.

Cool. But now I've noticed that the rack one has little feet, so it can stand alone anyway. It looks like the rack one will be closer to the size of a normal amp, so I guess that one is probably what I'll go with (if I end up getting one).

Since you love the Kemper and the THR10: Would you say that the Kemper is worth the extra money over the THR10 as a practice amp? I mean, does it sound much
better, or is the extra price justified only by better versatility/effects?

I use my THR10C with headphones, and while it's great, am still looking for something better.

for practice? THR all the way. Kemper is a serious studio tool that happens to also be good as practice but you need a set of monitors to really appreciate the tone. headphones do it zero justice where as, the built in speakers of the THR sound very good.

Plot twist: sending left and right output from the kemper into a Y splitter that combines them into a single 1/8" stereo male jack plugged into the AUX input of the THR (typicaly what you would plug an ipod into to jam with) produces full stereo kemper tone from the THR's built in speakers and sounds hilariously good.

FRPC, I just watched your Kemper demo of the Bogner XTC on youtube, great job man. Now I'm gassing so hard for the the damn thing now,,lol. I was 1st interested in the snax, but a friend said it didn't have the "feel" of playing thru a nice tube amp. I was wondering if the feel is there with the Kemper. Thanks, and again great demo man.

Thanks FRPC. I just got the Kemper today and ran through the presets with headphones. Man, it sounds dull compared to the THR10C. Sounds like a wet towel is between me and the sound. For practice through headphones, it really is no upgrade to the Yamaha. I've tried three different headphones, open and closed (Sennheiser HD598, Sony MDR-V6, Alessandro MS1i)... and different settings of Presence, Reverb, and EQ. Sigh... and now my ears hurt too, because I automatically turn up the Volume when I can't get the sound right ;)
