I am a fan of slashes playing and tone, but I haven't bought this because as much as I like myles Kennedy his voice is grating after 2 min, it sounds so forced.

Love the last two records. IMO they showcase some of Slash's best playing in at least a decade.

It's a good album, but I agree with Neil. I didn't mind the singer at first but he eventually started to sound like nails on a chalkboard to me and I usually just skip past it when it comes up on my stereo now. Dude needs to ditch the yodelly accent shit

I heard a track and thought, "Damn, this is Slash? This sounds different and really good."

Then Myles kicks in and yeah, I just can't deal with his vocals.

Love his playing on the last two records (and on most everything else hes done), but Axl > Myles.

Slash's playing is def up a notch or 2, the guy has stepped up his 'game' on the fretboard,he really has on some of the newer tunes :rawk:

Myles Kennedy has a decent voice (unique) its not bad but it does get a bit 2 "yodelly" like a bad fold singer  .. Its a good voice but when he goes into overdrive it is a bit to much for my liking, cut the yodelling shit and just sing damnit!

I love GnR and I love Axl's vocals in his prime. Myles can sing his ass off but there is something slightly annoying about his timbre.

Also, the chorus to Standing in The Sun is incredibly lame sounding. :o

Absolutely LOVED his first solo album! The 2nd one, not so much.

No doubt, Slash had upped his game, and the 2nd album sounded so inspired. I just wished he stuck with guest vocals again. Kennedy is fine with me with Alter Bridge, and those two songs on the first solo. Not hating on the guy, but Telephant mentioned the timbre of his voice, and that made sense. Grating is a close second description too.

But Slash's tone on Apocalyptic Love...

Definitely liked Myles with Mayfield4 and Alter Bridge, but he's changed his style with Slash it seems.
