Mojotone Slammins 2x12

Post by GuitarBilly »

Does anyone have one or played one?

I'm thinking about buying one for monitoring my amp at practice. Live, I'm using a 4x12 and I have my amp turned up loud enough so there's no issue.

But for band practice I usually take smaller cabs and play quieter, it's hard to dial in the tone since the speakers are shooting at my ankles. So I tend to dial more highs than usual to compensate for it.

I think having something like this would work as a better way to hear what's actually coming from the amp? What do you guys think?
Guitars:
'78 Les Paul Pro / '89 SG Special/ '04 Gibson Les Paul Classic 3 pickup / Jackson Star/ Endres Tele / Fernandes Rhoads/ ''74 Hohner MIJ strat/ 2 Partscasters

Amps:
Depends on when you ask. I got tired of constantly updating this section lol

Cabs
Marshall 1960A w V30s/ Seismic 2x12 w Redback and V30.

I had the Metropolis version of this for awhile. Greatmutah has one as well? Interesting design. I want to say you still needed to be a bit away from it to get that head on beam but that shouldn't be a problem unless you practice spot is a super small space? Only speakers I had in it were unbroken in V30s so it was pretty spiky. I could see putting something a bit beefier in with a little more low end. I think the look is actually cool as well.

I have the Metro slanted one. Coolest 2x12 I’ve ever owned! It sounds excellent and projects well so I imagine the Mojo would be similar. I think Mojotone has more of an angle than the Metro (just from the pics) as all the Metro version is is the top half of a 1960 cab. I use Creamback 75s in mine.
