NGD - Gibson LP Tribute p90 Goldtop

Post by ledvedder »

It's been a while since I've posted. I've been wanting a quality dual p90 guitar for a while. I already had a Harley Benton LP style special, which is ok for what it is. But this 2011 Gibson is great! And the Goldtop is a bonus. Very good shape for a 12 year old guitar. It came with a good quality Gibson bag as well.

Congrats!! Looks killer.

I think the tributes are kick ass, would love to own one. Probably the best value USA made guitar out there. And bonus points for p90s and gold top!

That’s the one tribute LP I would buy. Satin gold top finish and P90s. And then I’d play as much Social Distortion as humanly possible.

It does have some scratchy pots, so I'm thinking about replacing them. I do all my own wiring, so it's not a big deal. But, I am wondering if I should just use all 500k pots? Or 300k for the volume pots? Also, 50s or 60s wiring for p90s?

I wried my P90 Les Paul up with 500K pots for all the controls, 50s wiring, .047 Cap in the bridge and .022 in the neck

Congrats, I inherited the same guitar, but in Honeyburst. My dad had installed a Bigsby with the vibramate plate and it's a bad ass guitar.

None at all. Seems like a pretty well thought out setup.

I like the Tribute LPs. I agree they're the best deal on an American guitar these days. I sold my red P90 Studio last year so that is probably the route I'll go when I get another P90 guitar.
Guitars:
'78 Les Paul Pro / '89 SG Special/ '04 Gibson Les Paul Classic 3 pickup / Jackson Star/ Endres Tele / Fernandes Rhoads/ ''74 Hohner MIJ strat/ 2 Partscasters

Amps:
Depends on when you ask. I got tired of constantly updating this section lol

Cabs
Marshall 1960A w V30s/ Seismic 2x12 w Redback and V30.
