Man, Haven't Played Metal In A While (Clip)

Post by gibson5413 »

I used to be a big metal guy up until about 12 years ago when I started mellowing out with my band (and just getting old). My stamina for this kind of playing has certainly faded but it has been fun to get these chops going again. I started a cover of A Life Once Lost - Vulture and thought I would post my progress. I put a placeholder of a solo in there (it will be better in the final mix) and I will add the vocals in there as well. I will eventually put together a video for this but thought I'd share. I used my Fractal FM9 with a modeled PRS Archon and my Tom Anderson Bulldog in drop D.

Goddamn, this band was awesome at first, and went to suck town after an album or 2. I saw them at SotU 2005. Good times. This sounds great!!

Sounds great, man. Love the big, hard smack of that snare cutting through the guitars. Really good mix altogether.

Tougher to get my metal chops back than I thought! :bang: :rawk:

Cool band and I like the use of open notes and just chugging all the time. I will sharpen this up and put together a video by this weekend! :thu:
