I threw the wireless plugs on the ground and kicked them off the stage so hard I can't find them anymore

I'm going to look into the new Shure pedal. GDX something.

both my singer's and my Boss WL-50 has been fucking around for a while now.... I guess there's just too much 2.4gHz traffic these days... but yeah.... played a couple gigs using a good ole cable and decided to kick it off my board and honestly, I'm not really missing it that much TBH
The only thing I really use wireless is for soundcheck so I can hear the mix outfront. For the rest of the night I'm in front of my pedalboard all night anyway so wireless is not that big a deal for me. It's good to have but not essential.

yeah.... that is the ONE thing I miss.... that and being able to walk across the rehearsal room to the cooler to grab a beer without having the take my guitar off lol.... but not being able to do either of those things aren't a deal breaker for me..... that being said, if I had to go wireless now, I'd agree the new Shure looks like a real winner.... although if Boss updates the WL series to 5 GHz I'd have no problems going back to them... I prefer the dongle format over the transmitter packs simply because it makes guitar swaps live so much easier.
The Shure wireless has been flawless for me. I really only use it for shows. But I absolutely struggle with my stage presence with a cable, so gotta have it!!

I'm not active at all, but in 5 minutes my cable has wrapped around me 10 times, so wireless all the way for me
Yeah guess one HAS to always have a cable for backup with these things. I’ve never even considered a wireless. It’s one of those things where it’s like I’m not fixing what isn’t broke. I know Cables can break too, especially how I play and act on stage but it still has never happened yet. But I’ve tripped over my cable, pulled it out of my guitar or pedal board dozens of times… Happened last night too. Lol. I just don’t care. Just part of the gig for me

I played at “church “ today. I used my xvive for soundcheck and rehearsal (soundcheck was rehearsal). It was cutting in and out a bit, so after soundcheck I used a cable. I’ll keep ‘em around, at least for soundcheck and weekend drinking jam’s sitting at the computer

yeah I am with you for the most part. I never really cared for wireless. I only bought the XVive because it was on sale at one of those Stupid Deals that MF does and I think it was $50 or something. So I decided I might as well try it out. And honestly, it's been good. I was still in Vegas when I got it (2018) and I played a lot of shows with it, in many different states/areas and it was fine until last night. It's one of those things I won't miss if I don't have it, but it's nice to have one for the right deal. So when/if I find a killer deal on the Shure unit, I will buy it, but I am in no rush.

I gave up on xvive wireless many years ago when i started getting interference, noise and drops outs which started very occassionally at 1st but then i'd just ditch and switch to wired for rest of gig. That kept happening but more frequently that i ditched it completely. I then got similar 5.8 wireless system that worked great for years until at one venue somehow i got some strange noise with wah pedal and that wireless.
Removed the wah and noise was gone, or kept wah and used cable and noise was gone... Other guitarist let me try his wireless which was on uhf band and that worked fine so i got a similar set. It has something like 99 channels and more most part haven't had issues other then few occasional signal seemed like it it cut out for a few secs a few times but changing channel fixed. Would be cool if it had option to search for frequency that was most free in area or auto changed to another free channel if needed. Now i have the 5.8 wireless system as a backup.
Still have cable on standby to switch to in-case wireless issues but haven't had to do so with current system i'm using.
