NPD: This SOLVES The Problems

Post by andvari7 »

Good evening,

As opposed to changing everything, which is somewhat of a tired cliche, I wanted to solve the problems I have within my existing closed system. In this case, my pedal arrangement required the use of two boards, which is unwieldy, to say the least. The fact that my pedals are, for the most part, clones of Lovetone pedals, which were gigantic in 1995, let alone 2023, doesn’t help. But the worst offender was the Chicago Iron Parachute, a reproduction of the Tycobrahe Parapedal. It’s a unique wah, but it’s also gigantic and long. If I could find something smaller, then I’d be in business.

So, I did.

Wilson Effects has a pedal, called the Freaker, that is based on said pedal. It fits in a standard CryBaby enclosure, so it’s not enough of a difference in real estate. They also make a mini, and they use an actual CryBaby Mini chassis to make it. That works, amazingly well.

That baby, combined with some pedalboard Tetris, means that I am down to one board. The Guitar and Bass Butler pedals will have to be swapped, but that’s a small sacrifice for one board.

I need to wire and test it, and then I’ll post pictures.

Thank you.

Interesting. I need to look this up. I love the size of the crybaby mini. I replaced my Morley with one just for the size advantage.
