I went to Atomic Music today and they were doing a 1-day sale of some items. This amp was $450 and I had $400 store credit from previous trades. So $50 out of pocket.

It's a Mesa Subway Rocket. It sounds like a mini version of my F-100. It also drives a 4x12 really well but I bought it mostly for a small rig I can take everywhere.

One of the guitarists in my last band used one. He tended to dial in a Stones sorta sound with it. Sounded good and cut real well.
If you can't play good, play loud.

Man I'd love to find the shoulder bag  the amp is definitely light enough to be carried that way.

Congrats, those are awesome little amps!!

One of my favorite Boogies and they sound great through a bigger cab.
I use to have two and ran them wet/dry through a couple 2x12s and it was :rawk:

I kinda thought they were too, and I think the single channel version might lean more that way. However, you're right the Son of Boogie is definitely a lower tier clean platform. Not a great amp imo

The Subway Blues (from the same series) is the pedal platform one. Great little amp.
The Rocket is the high gain version.

I missed this clip the first time. Sounds killer for the size! That's the internal speaker? Reminds me of the Caliber amps.

Yes it's the internal speaker, 10" Mesa Black Shadow.

And yeah I'm pretty sure this is build upon the Caliber circuit.

That’s even more wild that that tone is coming from a 10”

Open back I assume as well?

I remember loving this amp and wanting one back when you could try them in stores.... like 1999 or so.

I had one for a while. I loved the way it sounded. But ultimately those two little EL84s gave up the fight when I pushed it hard. I ended up using it as trade bait for a Bassman.

If it's a keeper, invest in the stoutest pair of 84s you can find.
