Just ordered a Dispatch Master

Post by eyeball987 »

Have been interested in one of these for years but have not pulled the trigger until today. Mostly I play dry, but will kick on the MXR M300 using the Epic setting here and there, or a Boss DD500 for leads. The sound in my new place could use just a touch of ambience and I finally caved.

The pedal seems to be pretty straightforward, but are there any tips that anyone has picked up using one of these?

It's one of those pedals that sounds great even if you randomly set the knobs. You can't really go wrong with it.

Just have fun with it. I was actually able to dial in the delay sound and repeats from Rush’s Kid Gloves intro almost instantly.

Don’t be afraid to crank everything, then adjust mix to taste.

The secret to the infinite pad sound is the long delay time that keeps reatarting the reverb tail.

Think of the dm as more of a reverb with delays that influence the tail. Use another delay with it.

The Dispatch Master arrived yesterday. Only plugged it in to see if it worked, but it sounded really good. Not taking the DD-500 off of the board, but the DM will stick around for a few longer test runs in a mix. Plan on using in mainly just to add a tiny bit of space to my core tone. I moved about 6 months ago and the EQ curves in my new room is quite a bit different from where I was.

I love the DM. Never been so happy with an FX pedal, literally from the moment I plugged it.
