Anyone else see Marshall announce this today? I like it, only have listened to one demo but I thought it sounded great.

I saw the Peach Guitars demo and it made me miss my SV20.

But these little amps, while great sounding, are not $1750 good. The build quality just isn't there for that kind of money.

These days Marshall's US pricing really sucks. The JTM head is listed at European stores for 899€ :idk:

Yeah it is a serious problem. The US distributor is jacking up prices like crazy. Obviously it should cost more here than in Europe but other UK brands like Orange, Victory don't have that much of a markup.

Yeah that's an insane mark up. 900 euro for a 30W isn't awful. $1750 is taking the piss.

Marshall has always had bad pricing in the USA. Remember the Rose-Morris days? Jim Marshall had to start a new company, Park, just to skirt around that deal.

New Marshall prices in us are nuts. New JVMs are $3200 or $2600 depending on wattage and both can be found for $1200-1400 used all day.

If we can use that same formula I’d gladly take one of these used for $700

As for the pricing, and I suppose it’s been awhile so who knows. But prices generally don’t go down, but it’s like Mesa prices in Europe. I believe they are like a Diezel would be here. $4k or so. Maybe not all but I remember seeing some Mesas there years ago and the dudes I was with there were like “One day we’ll be able to get one!” Haha. And I’m thinking. A recto ain’t that great!

Yeah but it's also the distributor jacking up prices. Take Victory Amps for example, which is also from UK their Kraken model is 1199 eur in Europe and 1499 usd here. Orange same thing. About 300-400 difference.

The JCM800 is 1599eur in Europe and 3549usd here. It's absurd.

It's not just import fees and currency it's the distributor just charging way too much.

I'm surprised they even sell these amps here. Who pays $1700 for a new Marshall 4x12??
