So I put a few pedals on CL today for sale. About $400 worth of them. A Few Boss, TC just regular stuff. This kid contacts me and said he was building his first pedalboard and wanted to trade all of them for his Schecter S-1 guitar. I agreed to it because it would be cool to help a kid put his first board together and it's probably easier to sell a guitar than a bunch of pedals.

So I got this guitar:

Image

It was super crusty and dusty when I got it, but I cleaned it inside and out, did a full set up and I have to say, I don't hate it. At all. I was expecting an entry level instrument, but this is actually quite decent. MIK, set-neck, good quality hardware (TonePros, Grover), super comfortable neck and even the stock pickups sound good.

I like it better than the Revstar that was so hyped up on the internet. This is more of traditional "Gibson style" guitar, while the Revstar is its own thing. Which is fine, just not for me. But this one fits right in.

The only mod I did to it was a set of hipshot locking tuners, but that's just something I do to all my guitars. The stock Grovers were fine, just non-locking. The TonePros bridge/tailpiece set was a nice surprise, since that's the other thing I always do to my guitars. But it came stock on this one. Not bad.

I got it with the intention of flipping it but now I am not sure. Might keep it as a beater/workhorse for situations I don't want to take the LP. Really surprised me how decent this guitar is. I may have to revisit some Schecter set-neck guitars. The abalone shit they did in the 90's/00's kept me from even looking at them but this looks classy and it is actually a solid/gig-worthy guitar. I am taking it to practice tomorrow to do a "real world" test

THat looks like kinda cool to me.

Better than my craigslist deal today, dude was selling a guitar Ive been looking for. I call him, get an address, head down. Meet up, he keeps playing it reminiscing of his old days, then backs out... but this was over the coarse of about an hour of me listening to this semi crazy old dude go on an on. First craigs deal that went bad for me.

Holy shit. I'd have left after 10 minutes. WTF is wrong with people

And yeah this is definitely a cool guitar. I'm impressed with it.

That's cool. I know nothing about Agile guitars. I remember playing a LP copy and not liking it but that was in the early 00s. So :idk:

Unless that was a joke and if that's the case, it went right over my head

I’m disappointed by the lack of hot dogs on this guitar. But seriously looks nice. If I had to play a Schecter I’d be okay with something like that.

Yeah at the very least there should be a hot dog on top of the DSL.

 I had completely forgotten about that thread

I have to admit that after your post last night I went to the Rondo Music website to see if there was one that looked like mine. In which case my Schecter would be sold immediately

Man that's a real wiener! I think that craigslist guy FAKA! went to see wanted his wiener. That's why I ain't going in no crazy CL dudes house. Damn Creepers everywhere. Schecter has some real nice guitars. I wanted that Coupe model they have for awhile now but at the price would just rather get another MIJ Gretsch.
