Triple Recto clip

Post by RaceU4her »

this is my ibanez RG with this shitty ass duncan black winter, this thing just feels soft and has no attack and it will be coming out soon for a EMG 81, its the only guitar i have in B right now though so fuck it. this is one side orange channel and the other red with the original combo of a 57 on a v30. i switched back to my darkglass x7 for bass on this one.

I prefer your EMG clips, but both of these clips are good either way.

I had to go bak and listen to some of your old clips to A/B the initial attack and aggression. These clips still sound great but I definitely hear what you mean on the attack! Sick riffs too

Both sound really good, tone is great... but I think more attack like some of your other clips would be just the ticket!

thanks dudes, sometimes i think i dial everything in too tight and aggressive, might have gone a little bit overboard the other way on these but it does sound good in a different way, if i put the ol' TS9 on it would probably be real good

I have a Black Winter in a 7 string that I built and it fucking rips. I wonder how different the 6 string version is.

yeah i seem to have opposite views than most with this pickup, listening back now though i think its more a feel thing than any actual tone thing, i might keep it in and try some different things

I used to have a Black Winter in a Jackson RR24 and had the same experience with the pickup that you did. It just wasn't a good match for that particular guitar, as I've heard plenty of Black Winter clips that sounded excellent.

The cameron one does sound way better, the recto is kinda mushy and fizzy in direct comparison. They all sound pretty damn good tho
