First impression is great. It's quieter than the 50w but still very far from being a home amp. On a quick comparison, the 50w is thicker and more aggressive the 20w is a bit cleaner with slightly less low end. But I could make them both get in the ballpark of each other very easily.
I think if I had to choose one right now, the 50w is the keeper, but I will know better once I have the chance to open them up. Which will be very soon: I have a gig this Friday and both amps are coming with me and I will decide which one to use during soundcheck

I have a DSL100H for the bottom. I'll add it to the pile and take a picture

Between the 2 Plexis, the 20w is slightly cleaner and it has a lot less low end. On this one, jumping the channels is a must. The volume is perfect for most gigs. I think I'd be able to gig this one without an attenuator at most of the venues I play regularly. Just enough to get over the drums without being overwhelmingly loud.
The 50w has a lot more low end thump and a lot more gain. Oddly enough, it breaks up a lot faster (on the dial) than the 50w. Actually this amp is one of the gainiest plexis I've played. With the volume around 2-3 I have enough gain for most of my needs. Also, unlike the 20w, I prefer this one without jumping the channels. The bright channel has more than enough low end for me.
Now on to the DSL.
The green crunch channel of the DSL is supposed to be the "Plexi" sound but I think that channel sounds nothing like a Plexi. It lacks gain, cut, punch, everything. It's actually my least favorite mode in the DSL.
The way I use the DSL is I use Red Lead 1 and keep the gain very low (like 1-2) and turn the volume up. In that setting, after some EQing I got it to sound very similar to the Plexi. But the feel is completely different. The Plexi has a squishy feel to the touch and the DSL is way stiffer. You don't hear that difference as much as you feel it under your pick. In terms of tone, they can get close enough that I think I could use either amp without changing the band's sound too much. They both sound like Marshalls.
So which one is the winner? Well they all do different things well.
The 1987x is the overall tone/feel/punch winner. If I was only playing large venues with volume not being an issue, that would be my first choice, without a doubt.
The 20w retains a lot of the feel of the 1987x but at much lower volume, so it's definitely a more club friendly amp. Honestly through a PA I doubt anyone would be able to tell the difference between this amp and a full size Plexi.
The DSL is more modern and stiffer sounding than the Plexis but it's by far the most versatile of them all. The master volume is great, the effects loop is way better, it has a nice clean channel etc.
I still want to do some more testing with the band etc but at the moment I think the DSL and the 1987x are the keepers. But on the other hand, I love the size and weight of the 20w so we'll see.
