Out For Delivery- My Plexi Clone

Picked it up. The HT fuse cap was broken in transit. Should I take a chance and plug it in?

With nothing connecting the fuse in the circuit I don't believe you'll get any signal.

Chassis is bent. It was packed well, somebody must have dropped it pretty hard.

The fuse is still connected. It's just the plastic cap is broken off.

If the fuse is still fully connected you should be fine trying it out.
Sucks when gear gets damaged like that.

Fuse is toast. Anybody know what the specs are for a replacement fuse?
I may be able to fix it myself.

On the back panel it says 1 amp; dunno what the F is for

May or may not be able to get one at Home Depot.. seems like they don't like to carry the types that guitar amps usually need in stock tho

On real plexis HT is usually 3a 250v fast blow, but depends on what the builder used. Look for markings in the fuse caps.

Thanks guys. I ordered a fuse holder and some fuses. Picked up an inline fuse holder and some fuses so I can try the amp out this weekend. Wish me luck.

Depending on the force of the impact, other components may not be in tiptop. Take pictures of the transformers. Are they still mounted straight? Have the laminates shifted? The impact could have been great enough to shift the inner components of the tubes out of spec too. I don't mean to scare you, but that's the kinda BS I had to go through when I had an amp shipped to me like 20 years ago. The transformer tabs were torn from their mounting screws. As much as I wanted the amp, I had to return it. I didn't even bother powering it up.

I installed an inline fuse holder, because I wanted to see if the amp works,
and if there were any other issues. Amp is fine. Sounds killer. I tried jumping the channels, like the treble channel better. Cleans up with the volume knob nicely. Running an OCD clone into it, but still have a bunch of pedals to try. Clips coming later. It came with JJ's. Might try a Tung Sol in V1, and NOS glass later.

I could not believe that my 72lb Ceriatone Model T didn't arrive all busted up....
It traveled from Malaysia > Philippians > Los Angeles > Long Island, NY, with only a double layer of bubble wrap and peanuts in a single layer cardboard box!
The box was pretty beat up when the UPS driver LITERALLY dropped it at my front door, right in front of me.

Glad your Model T made it intact.
Somebody must have really been pissed at my amp, for it to be as damaged as it was. But it's working now, so I'm stoked.

Damn I'd be pissed but im glad its working. Had a similar experience with my Mesa 50/50 power amp from guitar center. Came in with shattered knobs and a shattered fuse cap/fuse holder and had to order from MB website.
