Battle of the Rig Hall of Fame

Post by greatmutah »

While there's no shortage of BOTR threads to read through, I thought maybe we could have this stickied to have them all in one place and readily accessible. So here we go. I'll be compiling these in chronological order. These will have each years finalists and the overall winner.

Les Paul Standard > Henning Bottle Rocket > 1978 Marshall 1960a 4x12 Greenbacks

Image
Image
Image
Image

Best Rack Rig - trey85stang2

Image

Best Bass Rig - ajaxlepinski

Hi-Tone HT103 with 115 cab. I gigged this rig a few times and it sounds fantastic! :rawk:
1980's Gibson RD
1977 Gibson EB-3
Image

Best Modeling Rig - IndyWS6

Best Multi-Amp/Stereo/WDW Rig - duncan

Heads:
1986 Mesa/Boogie Mark IIC+ (factory)
2010 Bad Cat Lynx 50

Cabs:
Dr Z Z-Best 2x12 (Warehouse ET65/Celestion V30)
Marshall 1936 (Celestion H75 Creambacks)

Guitars:
2017 Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray
2019 Ernie Ball Music Man Sterling Valentine (Anderson HC2 in the bridge)

Pedalboard:
Guitar > TC Ditto > Sonic Research Turbo Tuner > Klon KTR > MXR Analog Chorus > Diamond Tremolo > Radial ABY
    "A" side > Lynx
"B" side > Fulltone OCD 1.4 > Xotic AC Booster > Mark IIC+ (the dirt is all on this side so the Mesa can be swapped out for either my AC30 or my Matchless, which need dirt pedals)
In the loop: Boss DD7 > Diamond Memory Lane 2 > Walrus SLÖ > Walrus Fathom > Walrus D1 (controlled by the Morningstar MC6)

Image
Image
Image

Best Budget Rig - Yarbicus

Peavey Valveking ii Micro ($250)
Panama Purpleheart 212 ($200)

Image

Signal chain:

(Out front) Sonic Research Turbo Tuner > Klon KTR > Fulltone OCD > Xotic Effects AC Booster > Diamond Tremolo > MXR Analog Chorus > TC Electronic Ditto > Amp
(In the loop) Walrus Audio Slö > Walrus Audio Fathom > Walrus Audio Mako D1 (controlled by the Morningstar MC6) > Diamond Memory Lane 2 < Amp

Best Small/Fly Gig Pedalboard - Marc G

this is my COVID19 board I put together during the lockdown... signal chain is Big Muff Clone -> Fulltone FB-3 -> TC Electronic Spark Boost -> Boss PH-2 SUPER Phaser (super NEEDS to be in Caps) -> Wampler Tube Echo -> Mooer Ana-Echo -> Spark Boost Mini.

typically at home I'd run it straight into the front of my amp but if I wanted to do 4CM I would break the signal after the phaser and just have the top row in the loop of my amp

Best Home Studio/Recording Rig - ajaxlepinski

With a 90 year old woman in the house, I don't get to crank it up loud so, no worries about vibrations or things falling off!
