Anyone here in need of a Tweed Pro style combo amp?

Post by mortatone »

Mercury transformers, F&T caps, JJ tubes, Walnut and wicker cabinet, ET65 speaker. Cabinet lacquer has lots of marks right now but I can clean it up and give it a fresh coat or two and fix the labels or just play it as it sits. This amp is kinda like a tweed deluxe with 6L6’s and a master volume. It started out life as a stock 5C5 Pro but the preamp sounded like it had a blanket over it so it got reworked and tweaked until it opened up and gave up the goods. This would be $1500 as a custom order but it can wiggle some ... message me if interested and we can work out a price. Can even deliver if within a couple hours of Orlando, FL.

Thanks for looking.

Would also let go of this 5e9-a Tremolux copy with master volume. Both of these amps have been my personal amps for the last year or so. Can only sell one, but I don't have a preference which one sells. They both sound great. The Pro is 6L6 and has more headroom and a stiffer backbone while the Tremolux is saggier, less headroom, less loud and has a woolier sound if that makes sense. Components are same except the Tremolux has Classictones.

And thanks Greg!

I still haven't gotten around to putting these up on Reverb. It's going to happen soon though. Similar amps with similar parts are being priced at 2K and up. I'm WAY under that. Food for thought.

Both are now up on Reverb. Would still make a bro deal through GAB, or even deliver to just about anywhere in Central Florida.
