Crimson Guitar "fret rubbers"

Post by RyanDistortion »

I posted this on the FB group but I realize not all of you are on there and this is useful.
These 4 "rubbers" have abrasives suspended in them and do the work of steel wool. In my hand I have the super fine and it goes fine, medium, and coarse. You use them to buff out scratches or dirt from your frets and go to super fine to get them shiny and smooth for real nice playing surfaces. I bought these 4 for $30 or so. No steel wool mess and you can use the super fine on your fret board to remove finger dirt and such. Pretty useful.

Do you need to mask off the fretboard?

You should. Especially if you are going lower than super fine.

Looks pretty cool, though. Might give it a try in the near future :thu:

Thanks for posting here - not on FB much, and have never been connected with the GABers there.

I gotta get some of those metal fret masks from StuMac.

StewMac sells a whole set of these in a large variety of grits, ranging from 220 to 8000. Based on what you paid, sounds like the price is very similar:
