DAM Meathead is the best fuzz ever.

Post by _ej_ »

I've been playing around with a few different fuzzes. I first got a DAM Meathead, thought it was sweet but wanted some more versatility so I bought a Big Muff. Didn't really dig it. So I built a Germanian Fuzz Face, I like it even less than Muff.

Today I dimed the Ampeg, broke out the Meathead and the LP and jammed.

HOLY FUCK. The tone. I guess its the Fuzz for me.

That's one I haven't tried. What's it based on?

Oh and clips!

Is that the one I built for you? You still want one with a tone stack and master volume?

Can't do clips today man, later in the week for sure!

Looking at the schematic I'd say its a Si Fuzz Face variant. Two transistors, no coupling cap between then, typical FF circuitry. It sounds WAY more pissed off and nasty than my Ge Fuzz Face.

Yeah dude, I'm thinking of rehousing it.

Nah, I'm good. After playing with a few different fuzzes I learned that Fuzz really isn't my thing for the most part. I think I'll stick with whats working for me.

You could easily fit it in a 1590a to save some room on the board.

Awesome pedals. I knocked together a turret board for a ptp build but I haven't gotten around to ordering the bits to put it into use yet. I have a sonic titan that needs housing too. The ST is a great distortion pedal and ti cleans up well. The two together sound pretty damn godly.
