I've been really into doom/ambient/sparse type stuff lately. I will share some of my favorite bands with you. I hope you will share some as well!

I love the way the keyboard player is punching the keys in the Neurosis video. Every metal keyboard player should just be kept backstage.
Shit that I own:
Amps: Mesa Mark III Red Stripe; Peavey 5150; Peavey VTM 60; Budda SD18; Dr. Z Carmen Ghia; Boss Katana; Mesa 400+; Darkglass Microtubes 900; Genx-Benz G-Flex; Marshall 4x12 w/Greenbacks; Peavey 4x12 w/G12K-85's
Guitars/Basses: Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro; Gibson Les Paul Studio; Ibanez Prestige RGA121; Balaguer Hyperion; Schecter Custom Shop Traditional; Schecter C-1 Platinum; Homebrew Tele; Composit Acoustics GXi; Warwick FNA; Peavey Cirrus 5; Rickenbacker 4003

I saw these guys open for Pallbearer in Boston. They have a keyboard player, but he actually adds a lot of cool ambience to the music. I was skeptical of keys in doom, but they make it work.

I will listen to this stuff when I get the chance. Possibly later tonight when I'm drunk.

I need to get some of this stuff to mellow me out while driving for work. I listen to all sorts of stuff while driving, but something slow and droning might help me not want to kill some of the fuckwits on the roads.
Main Guitars: Gibson SG Classic, Agile AL3100, Fender Blacktop Telecaster
Amps: ACC150 (x2), Peavey VTM120, JCM600, Peavey Bravo, Yamaha THR5
Cabs: Mesa Halfback 2x12, Peavey 1810, Randall RS125CX

That Acid King song is awesome! Never thought that a female vocalist would work with these type songs... Heres another band with a female... My favorite song by them I might add...

I'm still waiting for the new Neurosis to come out on LP before I pick it up. I hear it's epic. All the dudes from my local music store just went to the sold out show in NYC. I was jealous.

I have the new Neurosis, but I haven't listened to it thoroughly yet. It usually takes awhile for me to absorb their albums. They are amazing live, but they don't play many shows, and the ones they do tend to be special event types of things. I'm very lucky that I managed to see them when I did.

They're definitely a band who's albums have to be taken in as one large piece, not individual songs IMO...

I can't help but hear the chorus as motorhead are gay. A problem shared and all that :D

And now I present the best doom record in a long time. Awesome tunes and the tone, oh good god the tone

I listened to it twice yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Meant to bring it to work today, but forgot.

HoF are a little doomy, and in any case Matt Pike put out some very "low and slow" stuff with Sleep, so it's all good.

I'd love to see HoF live.
