Akai mpc and Native Instruments maschine

Post by neilrocks25 »

I have been messing around with iMaschine on the iPad and it's great for building beats and rhythms , quick and fun to use.

I have always liked the Akai MPC's and used to gas for the MPC 4000.

Now it looks like the latest Akai and native instruments maschine are midi controllers and look pretty cool, has anyone had experience with these?
Also is there a newer hardware equivalent that is not tethered to a computer, with onboard sample memory? Or do I have to check eBay for a 2nd Akai mpc sampler?
The computer ones look great, but sometimes I can't be assed to switch on a pc and load it up the software I just want be creative as soon as the mood takes me.

Hope this makes sense?

This is the kind of thing I am talking about a sampler/ drum machine/ sequencer/ production studio.
Great for getting ideas without a band.

My bro has one. He thinks he's an EDM artist. His fire tracks sounded like cellular ring tones.

The unit seems badass though,

part of me feels like I should learn EDM. I like Native Instruments a lot. Like a lot a lot. The Cuba, Monark, Vintage Organs, and Retro Machines plug ins are all awesome. But I don't actually issue of their groove sequencing stuff.

I want it for song righting on the fly, I found my self writing more NIN kind of stuff with a rock n roll soul, I want to see where this route takes me, but with not much space and I hate loading up recording software I lose my will to record.

I am looking for something like that but more modern, and even though it's great for hip hop and dance, I am sure I use it for something unique
