Jam Track solo contest video

Post by gt_jumper »

I recently recorded a solo contest entry shown in the video. I have no idea the Guitar's setup but it was a 6505 into a sheffield loaded 4x12. The mic was an AT5040 into an N72 pre through the Xfilter (just for the highpass). Adam here is a lovely player and i enjoy his licks :)

That sounds really good! I have never tried a condenser on a guitar cab.... I might have to at some point. How close is tbe mic to the grill?

Thanks man :)

Look into the AT4050, in my opinion its a bargain condenser with a decent SPL handling for the cost. I pretty much always start at about 5" from the grill cloth to retain the detail of the notes.
