Ok so my questions are If you were to take a model like the twin reverb or a plexi and use a real pedal say a fuzz would it behave like an actual amp with a pedal in front of it?

Have they issued a patch that extends the low end capabilities for profiling bass amps?

If I turn up the volume on a non master volume amp will it act similar to the counterpart?

Does it have the ability to adjust sag and other parameters similar to the axe fx?

If I were to engage a pedal while profiling would it capture the exact tone I had? I'm pretty sure overdrives and the like work but I meant stuff like modulations and delays.

Can you use the unit for vocal processing?

Have you ever encountered digital clipping?

Yes Fuzz into a fender profile will act like the real amp and give you the correct tone. Also there is fuzz built into the effects which you can try.

The Kemper can profile bass as well as guitar, there are bass profiles, use them and enjoy.

It can adjust sag and other parameters for the amp block. You can profile an amp at any volume level and saturation. The master volume on the Kemper does NOT act like the master on a real amp, it is the overall output level.

You can profile an amp with an OD pedal inline, it will capture the tone of the entire signal chain.

Modulations and delays cannot be profiled.. I think time based effects are a no go while others are.

Vocal processing? no idea, im sure it would give you distorted tones jsut fine. Probably effects would be fine as well although they are tuned for guitar range.

You can get digital clipping if you crank the volumes on the Kemper and your DAW cannot handle it. There are LEDS which allow you to tell when you reach these levels. It is easy to prevent clipping.

How expensive are the patches you can download?

How are you finding amps to profile besides yours & your friends?

I meant is there and xlr port for the vocals part. And I knew there were already bass profiles. I meant have they improved them as before the profiler was rumored to not pick up the full range.

I figured that trying to capture delay or modulation would just make it sound goofy. I have pedals to do that. I am just ultimately deciding what I need to keep or get rid of. Since I want it just for recording and I really have no need for all the tube gear I have since I don't play out.

They have a community of free ones and the paid ones very by person selling them. In most cases like 20 bucks per amp/cab combo.

boosting the kemper with an overdrive sounds good depending on what type patch you're using but doesn't sound like a preamp tube circuit being overdriven. I can take my nitro profile I made WITH my austin boost hitting it and play a bit and then switch over to my non boosted profile and then turn on the austin plugged in front of the kemper and they don't sound the same.

mind you it's not a WORSE tone when boosting the profile, it's just different.

That makes sense. Because the mic doesnt capture every single frequency and amount the amp puts out. Sort of like how an amp sounds in a room versus a recorded tone. The mic causes some frequency roll off before the kemper. SO it would stand to reason that putting the boost after the model would work differently, but also can expand your tonal palette. Which I think is a good thing.

Anyone know if they are making a non-rack version with the built-in amp? I have no other rack gear, so I wouldn't want one just for the Kemper.

They are. Retail is $2730.

From what I've heard, the built in amp is only going to be very very low powered. Not like a dual 100 watt thing jammed in there. Think like a little 5 or 10 watt practice amp type deal. They may have changed things since then but that's the last I heard on it.
