I'm not a massive fan of Periphery but i love Misha's tones... and he is really good at mixing IMO. I'm really excited because he has said on ask.me that he'd like to make more on drums and how to eq them, and how he sets up his axe fx tones  I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this channel for that since i'm hopefully getting an axe fx soon!

That was pretty good, thanks for posting. I'll keep my eye out for more of his videos. I hope he does a whole series.

Pretty cool but mindnumbingly basic. I guess people gotta start somewhere but pretty much all of that info can be found all over the net with practically no specific searching. I'd rather get into some actual techniques, but I'm sure that'll come later.

However, I do want the cameras he's using. That looked super slick.

Yeah, nothing here to show any "secrets". But being someone who has been recording since the beginning of computer based DAW, I'm gonna let the secret out.. Ready? There are no sevrets or tricks for good tone. You need to capture the tone from the source. Simple as that. The amount of processing in high end recordings we be very minimal on individual tracks. As long as you can get good tone right from the mic or in this case direct, then you are well on your way. A proper master is what will give any good mix that professional sheen..

Otherwise, i totally disagree with duplicating measures. That absolutely takes away from the energy and performance. For demo purposes, then sure, but to just record one measure and duplicate it for the remaining measures, is a big reason why many of us feel that music of today has no feel. No soul. . Its cause no soul was put in. Ideas were put in and recorded, but no performance was captured..
