Water tonight... had a large stein of tap Dinkelacker-Schwabenbraeu and shots of Bärenjäger at a German restaurant, last night.

How'd i miss this thread? You could say I drink for free...or that i get paid to drink...or that I pay for my beer with blood and sweat. In any case, I'm usually drinking whatever I got filled in the growler earlier that day. My favorites are Pale Ales...IPAs just have too much punch and I want to drink a few.
EDIT: I made Sake at home once including making the Koji from spores. It came out really good but higher abv than typical Sake (which is apparently normal). Sake is a bit different than beer or wine. Wine must is already converted to sugars but the malted grain used for beer needs all that starch converted to sugars. That's why the grain is malted, malting releases the enzymes required for the starches to be broken down to simpler sugars. Yeast can only ferment the simpler sugars. But in Sake, the rice needs to be converted and rice has no enzymes. So they use a type of mold that converts the starches to sugars. And this mold works simultaneously with the yeast (the yeast does the fermentation and Sake yeast is essentially a type of lager yeast) to slowly convert/ferment as you go. And you keep adding more rice along the way (to a point). Hardest part is squeezing every last bit of sake goodness from that gelatinous mass that is the fermentation. It ain't pretty. Also, all those awesome fruity esters you get with Sake are from the yeast.
Dang, I want Sake and an order of unagi about right now.

Made beer for a few years and I bought a book on home brewing sake... man, I gave up after reading the first few chapters because, way too ambitious process for me!!!
Anyone who makes their own sake should be worshipped!
Today, I was selling records at a Punk Rock Record Fair; had the bartender's signature, piña colada variation and something called a Key Lime Pie served in a martini glass. Both were really good!

Couldn't help it. Splurged and got the Dalmore 15 and the Ardbeg Uigeadail. Dalmore is by far my favorite scotch thus far. Ardbeg absolutely has it's place. The Uigeadail doesn't differ enough from the 10 to justify the price increase, but I can easily see myself keeping a bottle around. The Dalmore on the other hand is right up there with my favorite liquor, Redbreast 15. I think the next liquor I pick up would be the redbreast 21. After that I'll be set for months. The Dalmore has kind of a fruit leather taste to it, I really enjoy it.
Tonight though, good ol' Jameson.

Had a whiskey flight for date night with the wife....whistle pig, Glenlivet 21, Macallan 18, Johnny walker blue.
Macallan was the best by a long shot, the smoothest whiskey I've ever had to the point where I didn't taste any alcohol on it

Our oldest daughter is staying with us for a while, she is a Captain's & ginger/coke drinker. No bourbon in the house, so having a few of those.
Just not the same as a pour of bourbon, but I see why girls like it.
