its funny-- i hear people say it's not really intuitive, but compared to a console and patch bay.. man ALL digital seems so counterintuitive to me 
gotta use what works, for sure. i love reaper-- but it's really all i've used, so idiosyncrasies and all, i just use it 'cause it's there and i don't wanna change up
christ, it took me this long to figure it out... starting over'd be horrible.
punch ins are super easy on reaper though-- check this: [video]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZ4g7MhIxdU[/video] it's just a time select, and put it in punchin mode, and it only records over the selected area!
