The wife and I finished Witcher 3. Completed everything minus the Gwent shit (could never figure that stupid mechanic out). We were down to Skellige for the question marks, but I got tired of fighting Harpy's from the boat.

We wrapped up God of War 3 last weekend and started the next one, but I think the button mashing from the previous game got us burned out on the series for now.

God of War 2018 could not be more different from God of War 3. Complete reboot of the series. More cinematic, Kratos has matured, and the combat system is actually strategic. If you just button mash, you’ll end up dead. Completely different game. It’s also amazing. It’s on my short list of GOATs. It’s top 3-5 for sure.

True, true. I think we just needed a break from that universe. Definitely looking forward to completing it and starting Ragnarok.

Ended up settling on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

So far, it looks great, controls are familiar, and the story is interesting. I'd recommend this one and the previous one as well if no one has played them.

Sadly that game runs like shit on any platform, unless they patched the hell out of it and fixed it. I tried to play it on PS5 and it was just a mess. Granted this was a while ago, so I hope this isn’t the case any more.

We noticed on the first planet that it was chugging when there was a lot of foliage and grass. Not sure why they couldn't just use the unfucked engine of the previous game.

I played Jedi Survivor the first week it came out, no problems at all on my PS5. Those two games are killer.

GTA 5 is free for anyone on PS+ this month.

Just finished up Starfield. Massive pile of meh. It picks up later in the game but the first half feels like a rip off of Mass Effect: Andromeda which was by the worst ME game. In the year of BG3 it is totally forgettable.

Oh man, the wife and I have tried three times to get into Mass Effect Andromeda, glad to hear we haven't missed out on anything.

It is not a bad game but it is definitely not a Mass Effect game. And it is significantly better than Starfield.

I put probably close to 40 hours in to Starfield before I realized it was actually boring and lame lol

Gotta be the biggest let down ever. I feel extra dumb paying for the crazy $100 version or whatever it was just to play it a week early

There are still tons of cutscenes in FF16 but it’s otherwise a solid action focused JRPG. 7.5/10 so far.

The wind modeling for Pebble Beach in PGA 2K23 can kiss my ass…

Quake champions, Counter Strike 2

Been playing Astral Ascent - it's like a cross between Dead Cells, Skul, and Hades. Pretty fun but I've reached the point where it is pants-shittingly difficult lol (destiny 6)

Once I can complete a D6 run I'll probably be done with it

Just started on elden ring. The flow is very different to dark souls 3, which is the only other souls game I've played. Enjoying it so far though!

Dude, I downloaded that game some time last year and uninstalled it after 30 minutes or so. Came across some horse dude that was massive and handed me my ass. Figured out real quick that game wasn't for me. It's beautiful though!

Wrapped up Jedi Survivor yesterday and didn't bother to complete the cool side missions. They took the soul out of the game, by adding exhaustive parkour puzzles and other dumb mechanics instead of focusing on better maps and story. Very disappointed in that game, because the first was done SO well!

I finally have the new gaming PC setup and most of my software installed, so I bought the Next Level Racing "Flight Simulator Lite" seat. Plan to mount the X56 H.O.T.A.S and rudder pedals to it this weekend and start getting it ready for MS Flight Sim and DCS shenanigans.

My dad (retired Air Force and private pilot) would love that seat! Please report back on what you think of it once you get it all set up. Looks comfy as hell too!

The only From games I ever got along with were Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne. They are extremely difficult and make no apologies for it. I tried Sekiro and noped right the fuck out of that one. Elden Ring was just too big to be that difficult, for me. I know I’m in the minority.

Will do... What did your dad do in the Air Force? Mine was a right-wing gunner on a B-29 in the Pacific theater during WWII...

P.S. That's the "entry level" seat setup but they have some killer cockpit configurations. Figured I'd dip my toes in before considering the high-end stuff.
