Looked up I could get a summon. But I didn’t have Irina. So I went and got her. Then I gave her a corrupted tome. And bought a dark miracle. And now I had to kill Eygon. I can get the Dragonslayer Armor down about 2/3s in health. I may grind out some soul levels. I’m like 76 or 77.

I was around maybe sl 75-80 when I did them I think. I'm only at sl 105 now. The thing that clicked with me was to only get one or two hits in per volley (I was using a sharp astora greatsword, sloooow!) then back right off. Most of the attacks are pretty slow and telegraphed and doging right usually avoids them. They're most open after the big sliding attack from afar which can be baited by opening distance up. I think I got them on the 3rd or 4th attampt. It's a real pisser that buffs/infusions don't help

I’m doing sword shield (+8 raw sharp sword) so I should probably focus on rolling to my right and not his. He does telegraph a lot. I just got stupid the last couple times.

Now I'm wanting to play DS3 again :/ It's not my favorite though; it feels really linear, I have to play through the first few areas which are a slog. I probably have the most played time in DS2, I like its levels, quirks, and bells and whistles better. But yeah, the jank...
I think Elden Ring is still pretty fun and has great weapons and spells. Eventually I would roam around with low-leveled weapons looking for fights for fun.
I had some serious FOMO/hype affecting me with Diablo 4 but I'm glad it passed. Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 were big time in high-school, but some things are better left in the past, I guess. I'm not a fan of Blizzard.
Baldur's Gate 3 is on my list. BG2 is an all-time great, but I could not get into Larian's Divinity Original Sin 2, so I've been hesitant with BG3. I will get it eventually, it looks entertaining and gorgeous.
Has anyone gotten into PCVR games? I picked up a Quest2 a couple years ago, and when I eventually built my PC it took a long time for me to warm up to VR. After a strap/battery upgrade, and figuring out how to quickly get the PCVR working through the WiFi Airlink, I'd get super into some things. They created a free Half-Life 2 VR mod which is nothing short of amazing. That game blew my mind years ago, and I can't believe it's blown my mind again. I took an edible the night I tried it and I got super immersed in City 17. Must have spent 30 minutes in the very first little section when you get dropped off the train. The final boat section where you fight the helicopter boss, and it drops a shit ton of mines when it's about to die, all of them exploding around you, music and explosions thumping in my earbuds, frantically looking around chasing this thing. It's been a serious highlight for gaming for me (as someone who's really kind of lost interest in videogames over the last 5 years).
Anyone play Subnautica? I always recommend that to everyone, whether they play a lot of games or don't. That was another amazing experience (I only played it on flat screen).

I've been meaning to get it for a long time now and keep forgetting about it

I have had BG3 on my PS5 for a week and have yet to boot it up. I hate not having much free time.

Ground out a couple soul levels, upgraded my sword one more time and I swear I briefly saw the code last night because I didn’t get hit by the Dragonslayer Armor until he had about 1/3 of his life left. Wrapped up that fight and am in the grand archives. Which is a great area to farm souls, might I add.
I plan on going back and finishing both DS1 and DS2. I didn’t really get hooked on those at first but now I want to finish them for completeness. The first Soulsborne game that I actually finished at least one playthrough in was Bloodborne. I even got the platinum trophy on that one and did the chalice dungeons. I have a 3rd playthrough ready to go there and I’ll probably do old hunters on that one when I do. Unless Shadow of the Erdtree drops soon. Then I’m back to the lands between.

Dragon-Kin Mausoleum in Archdragon Peak is the peak farming area; those knight ghost dudes respawn infinitely and drop thousands each time

Nameless King can fuck right off. That whole area is fairly difficult but I never did beat that asshole. No desire to re-visit.

Grand archives is my go to low effort farming spot too. Those gargoyles on the roof made me respec my astora greatsword dex build into a strength fugs build though. Praise the infinite respec glitch

Been playing Baldur's Gate 3. The game is fine, but I'm having a hard time getting invested in the story. The way they wrote the support characters to create tension makes decision making tedious as you know someone is going to object to nearly every decision you make. It feels like I'm stuck with a bunch of backseat drivers who won't get with the program.
I started playing Starfield on launch. It's basically Fallout in space. I find the walking tedious. I find the inventory management tedious. I find selling shit to empty my inventory tedious. Everything is a bullet sponge, and it seems like there's only 2 or 3 guns that have enough ammo sustain, making 90% of what I find irrelevant.
I'm disliking the way they're writing romance into everything.

The real challenge comes at the end of the chapter. Buckle up boys.
Dude did you do the optional mission "Intercept the Redguns"? If so, how the actual fuck lol
I managed to actually kill Michigan once but it didn't end the mission; I had like no health and zero heals left then just got sniped from behind by a random mob. Haven't managed to come that close since
I know I can just choose to do the other mission instead but goddamnit I feel like I need to do this

I'm pretty sure that's the mission that made me switch to Starfield

For that one I've had the best luck so far with dual flamethrowers, dual songbirds and heavy bipedal legs/core/arms
Still lost lol
It would be one thing if you only had to kill the boss but even if you manage to kill him you still have to kill every one of the thousand fucking mobs in the room
I'm gonna try again this evening with the tetrapod legs assuming they can support my weaps

Well got home from work and managed it on my second attempt lol; the stun needle was the key

Kinda intrigued by Payday 3. I played a lot of Payday2 back in the day. For arguing with your friends it's one of the finest hames out there
We should have a GGF gaming discord server

Killed the Twin Princes today. I was a bit underleveled when I first went in. Took two extra knockdowns of Lorian but I got Lothric. Black Knight Shield and Wolf Knight Greatsword. Both maxed. I was able to stun and riposte Lothric in the first phase nicely.

Killed Soul of Cinder! Got my ending. Gonna finish Nameless King soon. I can wreck his first form easy. Second form I got down to 1/3 of his HP. Gonna level a bit more.

I'm currently grinding through the NG 100% checklist for the achievements before hitting the DLC and starting NG+. I got a pseudo cloudsave thing working on my steamdeck so I'm playing in glorious 1440p@165Hz

So in the last year and a half I got really into sim racing. Built a pretty dope rig for it to. Wheels these days aren't like the shit we had in the late 90's early 00's. This thing will break your wrist if you're not careful. And the loadcell brake pedal lets you set how much pressure you need to apply for 100% brake. I've done quite a few 24 hour races with a team of 4. It's extremely nerdy.

Oh damn, that's pretty cool. I've seen that direct drive wheels have become somewhat reasonably priced over the last couple of years. Are you using a screen or VR?

Finished my first AC6 playthru Saturday morning; shit fucked hard. I'm sure I'll do some NG+ cycles at some point
Started playing AK-xolotl because it looked heavily inspired by Enter the Gungeon and it definitely is; just not nearly as good. Still fun though. It literally just came out a few days ago so I'm sure it'll be improved over time

I picked up gamepass again this weekend to try playing payday3 with some friends and the whole thing was a total clusterfuck
The log in server was clearly on fire. Dunno if they've fixed that yet or not.
