^ Pretty much this... It's not great, but it's decent and reasonably priced. It fills the gap when I go to the store and don't want to spend $50 on Aberfeldy 12...

exactly..... personally in that price range I do find there are better bang for your buck with bourbon....

what price range is that? - I find $30 to be the sweet spot for price/quality ratio of bourbon

yeah.... that $30-$40 price range you get really good bourbons IMO and you get OK scotches with a couple outliers that punch above their weight

Laphroaig will always be my favorite, but Ardbeg is no slouch.

Unfortunately, it's getting harder and harder to get ahold of Laphroaig's Quarter Cask, which is my favorite "low level" Laphroaig. I REALLY miss their cask strength editions. Somehow we're having a big shortage of that brand around here.

It's available here, but it's nearly the same price as the 10 year, which wasn't the case like 5 years ago. I remember the days it was on sale for $37, now it's like $65. (Porbably lots of Canadian taxes sprinkled in there)

Try a little brandy and beer. Its gotta be cheap beer. Red stripe might work.

I took NFA's suggestion and grabbed some Uigeadail... it like phenobarbital in a bottle!!! What a crazy buzzz!!!

last night settled in with a creole- high west rye, cynar, heerings a luxardo cherry and a twist of orange peel. weren't bad! skol!

Ended the night with a martini. Jùnipero gin, from San Francisco, which I would consider buying again (if my preferred Drumshanbo is not available), and some French vermouth.

In fact, I just got back from the liquor store and there was some drunk lying on the floor on top of an xmas display he fell on, and he pissed himself to boot.

Feeling very Islay today. Probably kick it off with Wee Beastie, a little Uigeadail while waiting on sourdough stretches, then rounding out with some Laphroaig 10 to finish the evening. I may slide in a little Glenlivet Peat Cask Nadura, though I'm not sure I'm feeling that special tonight and kinda need to be careful between the snow and the sourdough.

No booze in the house at all tonight and I'm going crazy already
