Re: What shows do you watch?
We finished Supernatural last night.
I'm considering starting all over again![]()
I've been to and fro with it. Watched 8 seasons, then it was dropped from Netflix. Watched a couple of seasons when it aired on cable. It resurfaced on another streaming channel, and we finished 11-15 now. Great show. Cool actors, and just the right amount of fantasy
My personal opinion is it's one of the few shows ever where they strike a damn near perfect balance of super heavy, super serious with goofy, wacky shit. Like the season we're currently in they have some really deep philosophical shit going on where Sam's using his powers and Dean's pissed about it, then they follow it up with the shape shifter that thinks he's a movie monster, which is one of the goofier capers they've had. I love that balance.

Been watching WandaVision. It's kinda bizarre and unique, I'm kind of into it, and I haven't paid any attention to marvel stuff in years

Watched the Supernatural last night where Dean catches the Yellow Fever and is scared of literally everything. Holy crap, Ackles played that episode like a gat damn fiddle. His girlie scream when the cat jumped out of the locker cracks me up every time. And him running from that little rat-sized dog still comes across hilarious. "RUN! IT'LL KILL YOU!"

Re: What shows do you watch?
Anybody else watching Young Rock? It's way better than I expected. I mean, I'm a huge Dwayne Johnson fanboy, but the idea of a comedy show about his young life being quality TV was just a little too much to expect. I'm glad I was proven wrong. So far there have been some fun Wrestling moments, some cool stories about the life with his dad, and some cool stuff about his life growing up and in his teens and twenties.
The framing of it is funny to me though. Like, it's being framed as a series of interviews during his presidential run in 2032. Sometimes I get the impression part of why he's doing this is to air all his dirty laundry himself so that if/when he decides to run nobody's gonna be able to hit him with something he hasn't already acknowledged publicly. Maybe I'm talking out of my ass, but there have been hints in various interviews here or there over the years that he may have an interest in politics later in his life. Maybe later is coming faster than we thought?

Got a free year-long subscription to Apple TV earlier in the week. Yay more subscriptions but even more useless and seemingly devoid of it's own content because Apple.
Anyhoo...started watching a series directed by Shamylanadingdong called Servant. In about 2 episodes so far. Creepy premise and looking forward to seeing how it pans out. The first time you see the dad interact with his child
I can already see a second season is available and that troubles me but we'll see how it goes

Re: What shows do you watch?
We're one episode away from the end of Season 4 of Supernatural on our rewatch. Sam and Dean throwing down and tearing up the honeymoon suite is always a treat. Especially with how utterly smug and sanctimonious Dean's been the last couple seasons. Watching Sam come close to choking a bitch out over it was very satisfying.
Here comes Lucifer! PUMPED! The dude that plays him is such a good fit for the role it just makes every episode he appears in.

Still plugging away at Servant. Odd little series that definitely has Shamalymananan involved. I dig it but they need to get to the heart of the matter soon-ish as it is still kind of murky what the overall gist is.

If Shamalamadingdong is involved it won't matter what the overall gist is because it'll change the second it starts to make even the tiniest bit of sense.

Watching "True Detective": season 1 again with McConaughey and Harrelson. Season 3 was my favorite with Ali and Dorff, but I'm going to watch all three again. I'm loving Season 1 - it's been so long since I last saw it, and I completely forgot parts of it.

Oh yes.
Also, S1 is some of the best television of all time. Right up there with Breaking Bad and The Wire. S2 stinks but S3 is a major improvement but doesn't quite reach the level of S1.
On a completely different tangent, I have been watching a lot of shows on IMDB TV and it is like deja vu all over again with the regular commercials. Been decades since a jingle got stuck in my head!

We watched "behind her eyes" on Netflix. decent surreal show with some twists
Also watched "The One" decent crime drama with a vaguely black mirrorish backdrop. Not bad, will watch the second season when it comes out

Currently watching Doom Patrol. Not gonna lie, I wanted to see this show when it was on DC’s streaming service but never ponied up. Since we get HBOMax through our cable for having HBO, we’re watching it now and I love it. Not the typical super hero show at all and that’s why I enjoy it. Plus Alan Tudyk’s antagonist is hilarious.

I've been enjoying Searching for Italy with Stanley Tucci , it's good fun , he has a great sense of humor and visits some great places . Check it out

I need to dig this one up. I have an anthology book from this comic book from years ago. Great characters and cool vibe.

The show is pretty faithful to a lot of the stuff done in Grant Morrison’s run. Not panel for panel by any means but thematically it’s in line. And the casting is extremely well done.

Started watching Wayne on Prime the other day. Hilarious. Love it. Kid and his new girlfriend head out to Florida to retrieve his birthright golden 1979 Trans-Am. Hilarious, rough around the edges and just great portrayals across the board. Give it a watch.
