I can totally see Goggins' character in VP going up against Dennis. I think McBride might get outshined there.

The Ripper (Netflix) - documentary about England's most notorious serial killer. It's done well. If serial killer docus are your thing then this is well worth a watch. Very different to the usual US serial killer documentaries.

At the CGI ? Was good as well

Started Yellowstone last night. Sort of an odd for no particular reason vibe. "Edgy" modern "western" soap opera feel. It's decent in the first episode at least. Might watch another episode or two to see if it sticks for me.

Are all the episodes as long as this first one? I want to say it was movie length. Which is fine. But not necessarily a 3 season run for me. These types of shows (humorless dramas) need to get down and dirty and pretty much into the absurd to keep it watchable for me.

This latest season of Big Mouth is ridiculous. Jon Oliver and Seth Rogan guest in the first episode. Oliver was the perfect camp counselor to scream, "shut the FUCK up, MILK!" The flash forwards were way over the top. The hand-stuff episode was hilariously inappropriate. This show has not taken its foot off the gas. Oh, and they finally had Ozzy's version of Changes show up in the show. The musical outro by the broken old crippled hormone monster was super fun too.

Well I'm not going to read all 167 pages of this, but I just discovered The Santa Clarita Diet with Drew Barrymore. It's a comedy/horror with Barrymore becoming an undead housewife. It's pretty damn funny and well cast. I've watched season 1 and 2 and still have 3 to watch. Anyone even heard of this?

Finished Supernatural. Started this about 10 years ago, binged the 1st 5 seasons but watched the rest in real time. Nice thing between my wife and I.

Ended about as well as it could have. I’m ok with it.

The wife and I just watched the first 3 episodes of Godless. It's a western and my wife is really enjoying it and she generally doesn't enjoy westerns. I'm enjoying it too. It's very engaging with a pretty good cast.

If that's the series that's based on the mining town where most the men died in a mine collapse, it's pretty damn good IMO... solid Western

Letterkenny's new season: OK Dairy. . .

. . . Dairy OK.

That conversation about the wind and the whistle about had me dying. There were another set of good one-liners to come out of it, as always. The hockey coach has shifted from awkward anger to awkward uncomfortableness. His constant stories about sex with his wife are the epitome of eesh, and the hockey bros reactions were totally on point. Shorsey's one appearance being punctuated with the muscle heads asking, "are you actually taking down their moms?" was super meta funny, as literally everyone that watches the show has that question. While it didn't feel quite as compelling as some previous seasons, we did watch the whole thing in one sitting so it's not like it put us off at all. Only seven episodes, which is disappointing after that long of a wait, but what ya gonna do? Maybe they'll have more in the new year?

Double it!

The hand motions everybody was making in the bar as the rumors were spreading had me cracking the hell up.

"Still not as big as Stewart's!"
"ROLD!"

Finished up AP Bio. S3 was weird. Some really funny stuff but very removed from any sort of reality the whole time.

Still watching Yellowstone. Total old man western soap opera. But really good. Sister drives me nuts and Wes Bentley is an oddball in everything.

Watched Limestone. FB TV series (?) Entire town disappears and a reporter goes after the story because her family was involved. Not too bad. One season is enough.

His Dark Materials season finale was a . . . well, I want to say turd but I guess we really won't know until we see where it ends up going next season. This entire season felt a bit like we're setting up all sorts of cool stuff that never really happens. Maybe last season gave me too many expectations? :idk:

Started Supernatural Season 1 again for the first time in a very long time. Holy shit. Not only did they look young, they sound like their balls haven't dropped yet. High squeaky voices. It's funny to me the production value differences from season 1 to season 15. Everything sounds small and even the special effects are mostly just obscured shadows in season 1. So much lore crammed into those first few scenes. What a ride.

Finished Cobra Kai season 3. That fight at the house was  .

Holy Schnikes the Outpost went full blown over-the-top. Killing off main characters left and right. Redemption arcs paying off for three characters in spectacular fashion. We finally get to meet Talon's dad. Man did they manage to pack a lot into the last couple episodes. I can't wait to see where they go next.

Just finished up Save Me last night. Lennie Jamess (brit who played Morgan on TWD as well a bunch of other UK stuff) plays a alcoholic drifter in his late 40s. Friends with everyone at the pub but no real direction in life other than barely getting by. His estranged daughter gets kidnapped and traffic'd; so he comes out of parenting retirement to find her.

Lennie James created and wrote this and is absolutely FANTASTIC in it. I always admire his acting chops and this is as good as any character as he's ever done, imo. Even when it gets a bit too "UK police show procedural"; he brings it right back down to earth with his character's never ending drive and desperation. Great stuff.

We really need to watch the latest season, but it may be a while since we just restarted Supernatural. Gonna take a while to get through fifteen seasons of twenty plus episodes each.
