but it's definitely going to be a major shift in the finances for the production studios.....

I can see it breaking down like this:

Big blockbusters - say the Disney owned Marvel/Star Wars/etc. and stuff like the Fast & Furious franchise will still make bank. They practically have people shoveling money at them just for existing.

Unknown blockbusters and not-so-great properties may cease to be. Some may argue that's a bad thing, but I'm tired of seeing absolute shit-show pieces of garbage that shouldn't have been made that are hyped beyond belief for the simple fact somebody thought they were worth tossing 250 million at before they hit the screen. Hasbro can stop making shitty movies now and maybe pair back the special effects in favor of plot and character development, thanks.

Indie and character driven films will likely thrive as studios look for ways to keep budgets under control outside of the massive blockbuster franchise films. And if one of these properties manages to become well liked enough to get a huge budget, it will be well earned and at least have a chance of not leaving us feeling insulted by the time we leave the theater.

Having a hard time seeing the overall downside here. Which is unusual for me as I usually see the downside in everything. The amount of utter garbage high-budget movies produced over the past few decades will decline. I see that as a win.

Puppetry goes a long way over CGI. Think its part nostalgia for us old bastards but also just somehow more organic feeling, even if there is a lack of facial animations compared to CGI.

I love her and I had no idea she was so politically active . She is holding asses to the fire. Also so hot.

I had to read your first sentence like six times before I got that you typed "Puppetry" and not "Puberty." Apparently the mere mention of Rosario Dawson sent my brain down the path of least resistance.

America’s Test Kitchen, before they booted Chris Kimball off, and This Old House, but not the Bob Vila years.

Fargo was great the ep before the last was brilliant . Not as good as last season though so if you haven't watched that yet look it up .

Well, I do want to watch the Bob Vila years, but full episodes aren’t exactly easy to come by.

I started Letterkenney because I’m fuckin stuck here and my boss watches it.

Watched one epi and immediately demanded he start the whole show over which he did.

This is a fuckin hysterical comedy and if you’re not watching it I feel bad for you.

"What's with the treasure trail, bud? You look like a twelve year old dutch girl."

"Nice Jammies. Do they come in mens?"

"You've come in enough men for all of us."

That first little interaction we probably had to rewind twenty-five times. Just non-stop punch and counter-punch and it's all so funny you miss half the lines because you're laughing over them.

Shoresy might just be the greatest character to ever grace a television. "Who skates like that?"

The coach annoyed us first time through, but the second time he started growing on us. Now every time I see a garbage can I'm tempted to kick it.

That show leaves an impression.

Finished up S1 of Mr. Mercedes. Ended in such a way that it could be a one and done and was really good. Started S2, one episode in; curious to see how it comes back around. I was thinking it never got any love when it was on the air but I dug the first season a lot.

Finished S2 of Mr. Mercedes. Great wrap up after a little "interesting" start of S2. There is one more season but not sure I'll dig it up as I can't see where it will go.

Started AP Bio. Wife doesn't dig it but I think it's great

Started The Capture (British procedural) on Peacock. 6 episodes; short run. Good so far.

Thinking about Yellowstone but not sure if it's going to be enough action or not.

AP Bio is awesome. Too bad they took it off Hulu. The NBC streaming service allows you to watch one episode of the new season, then you have to pay for it. Fuck that shit. This shattered streaming services thing has to go.

I plopped down the $4.95 fee for the first month. I am fine with that price for now as one of my rotating platforms as I see fit. It's weird seeing Dennis as a teacher yet makes perfect sense in an inappropriate comedy sort of way

He really is the same character too, which becomes apparent as he starts sucking the kids into his schemes.

Can't remember her name but the k00ky girl with the glasses is our favorite. She's exactly the right flavor of nuts to play off him.

I feel like they could have rolled Dennis into Vice-Principals with Goggins and McBride and it would have been PHENOMENAL.
