We watched the first episode of Norsemen a while back. Wasn't really feeling the funny on it for whatever reason. Maybe it needs a few episodes to get going?

Been watching Line of Duty. UK police drama. Really good if you dig that sort of thing.

This show is fucking amazing. We just finished season 3 last night. Literally takes every single Viking trope and just punts it straight down your funny bone.

Freya = badass, though you don't see as much of that this season as you did in season 2.

Yes Indeed ! She is Awesome . And the actor that plays Jarl Varg is without a doubt one of the finest actors of our day . :D  :rawk:

Jarl's ticks and slightly germanic pronunciations just crack me the fuck up every time. He can be talking about gutting somebody and make it sound funny.

Jive, the show takes a couple episodes to establish the basics, and slowly ramps up until by the end of the first season it's gut-wrenchingly funny. It's not an initial shock to the system funny, especially that first scene where it's just sort of rough sketch comedy without a direction. When the story really sets in is where the laughter kicks ya in the gut.

^That's what I figured. It doesn't seem to be a topic that immediately lends itself to being hilarious. But I can see the comedy potential. Maybe a revisit down the road?

Line of Duty is solid. Thandie Newton's season is the best.

I really dig British cop shows. They just feel different from US shows.

In a lull out of good shows to watch. Weve been plodding through Norsemen, on season 2. Its entertaining enough but I wish I liked it as much as others seem to. On that note, are there only like 10 actors in all of Norway? It's all the same people that were in Lilyhammer

There better be some good shit coming for fall. A pandemic winter without decent TV would doubly suck...

Supernatural finale finally announced. October 8th kicks it off and it wraps November 19th. Been a long fifteen seasons. I'm half torn between not being able to wait to see how it ends up, and not wanting it to be over.

I hope they put Chuck/God in a hurt locker before their inevitable unhappy endings. Team Jack all the way.

Binged Karate Kid S2 over the weekend. Other than the cliffhanger we have to wait out; it was really good. Odd mix of crap I would never sit through on the WB (CW, WTFEVER) and nostalgia that somehow still really hit the spot. Better than it really has any right to be.

Been watching a show on Netflix called Rust Bros. "Reality" show about a shop up in Canada that rebuilds old cars. I usually hate shows like this but it's been a weird show hole as of late and this one actually filled that gap quite nicely.

Another random observation: the latest Hulu menu update (on the Roku channel app at least) is atrocious.

My wife is involved in the feedback group for Hulu interface changes. After this last one she's been sending them hate-mails about every other day. They literally took every suggestion sent to them over the past few months and did exactly the opposite of what the polling data was telling them to do, then asked if everybody was impressed. I thought I was gonna have to pull wifey off the ceiling the night she got that question.

I noticed it a while back but forgot to complain about it on here  The previous look was clunky but just seemed easier to fathom. Despite it involving super long scroll lists in each category which were infuriating in other ways  Absolute first world problem but I can guarantee we've watched a lot less Hulu since this change.

What really grinds my gears is scrolling and scrolling then clicking a title to watch a trailer, then being brought to the top of the list again when going back

I just finished kobra Kai. It is one of the best shows I've seen in a while. It's karate kid but takes place 34 years later and tells Johnny's side. It's ambiguous who the good guy is. And more of a the world isn't always black or white. The characters aren't one dimensional. Some plot point we're easy to see coming but that's the 80s cheese we all used to love sprinkled in.

Started S2 of the Boys over the weekend. Um; meh. Characters are still good but the whole "super hero network" thing is just a lame angle, imo. Hopefully I get the bug a bit more in another episode or so. Watched S2 of Criminal UK over the weekend. Quick watch that feels more like a play; but enjoyed it quite a bit.

S2 of Boys takes a while to kick in IMO, as of Friday's episode things are now getting a little spicy

I either just watched 2 or 3? Can't remember. Episode where the mute chick finds her brother? I did like the return of Karl Urban. I'll certainly finish the season but we'll see if I carry on past that. One week at a time is also not my favorite

My wife is ready to start The Boys now that she knows Jensen Ackles is gonna be in it.

We started The Third Day yesterday. That first episode is literally the most "THE FUCK I JUST WATCH?" thing I've seen in years. I'm hoping they're heading somewhere with it. That's kind of becoming a massive trend to have shows just be completely baffling for a while and pieces don't really start falling into place until late in the season.
