I got the tight metal, and it rocks. I still don't like the speakers in my cab, but i'm gonna change them out soon.

What setup do you run your distortion pedals into?

I think for now i'm good with the B-52 half stack, and the tight metal. I just want different speakers. These speakers sound really clean/clear, with rolled off highs. I have the tight metals tone knob all the way up to get enough highs lol. Either i'll get the speakers, or a short scale next.

I dont use the distortion pedals much, but when I do, I generally just use the clean channel on my XXX or Triple Recto.

Speakers would probably be better, and really not that expensive in the grand scheme of things.

Yea the speakers are all I really need. I'm fine with my Strat, after setting it up really good.

Yeah, one guitar is really enough unless you want different tunings. Of course, I have like 10 guitars or something, so I am not the one to say that, lol. I did finally change the pickup rings to black on one of my PRS guitars the other day. I bought them like a year ago, but I never change strings as much as I should, lol. I have another one to do also, but waiting until I figure out what I want to do with the pickups on it.

I have been playing with more delay and reverb lately, so I have been having fun messing with trying to dial in effects I never used much in the past. Switching between different rack units in the loop of my 5150 III 50w, or XXX.

I wanna get a decent delay, and maybe a chorus for a doubling effect. I've never been huge into effects.

I'm not buying anything else lol. Once more i'm a gear whore like the old days. I will buy a new bridge pickup if I need to, but thats about it. People are gonna say i'm crazy, but my friend gave me back my digitech tl-2, and I like it better then the tightmetal through this amp. It has more highs which works better with these speakers.

Man all my neighbors must have spent a ton on fireworks. They had boxes of the mortals, and finalies. I was covered in dust when I left lol. Even my friends car was covered. Got the Aria LP today. The guitars serial says 2002, but this thing looks new. Whoever had it, must have just put it away after playing it. I ran the specs, and it says Alder body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard. So its basicly a short scale of my Strat  The necks a really thin C and feels great. The pickups are low output, and have no crunch blah. The bridge one will need to be replaced asap. Overall I just payed 200 bucks, so it was worth it  Amazing thing is the frets feel better then the ones on both my MIM and old Mia Strat. Really smooth, even on the sides.

I have a DOD Gunslinger, which I think was based on that old Hardwire TL-2.

Hopefully you like it! Just throw a Duncan Distotion or something in it. :)

I am actually waiting on a Duncan Jazz pickup I ordered to get here so I can finish changing the strings on a guitar, lol. I bought a bunch of strings, so started re-stringing several guitars. Seems like I only change many of them like once a year. I have been liking the Hybrid sets recently, so switching some guitars over to those sets.

Damn, I change mine atleast every couple of weeks. I hate when they start sounding dull. Maybe I need a string cleaner. I'm thinking of either getting a Nazgul or black winter.

Been playing the Aria, and its straight. I didn't even have to do a setup on it. I just changed strings. This model was made in Korea, while my acoustic Aria was made in Japan. But the acoustic is a higher end guitar. You just can't get away with a cheap acoustic. No pups to color the sound.

I have like 10 guitars or something, so I cant keep up with it, or afford it, lol.

It is an event for me though. I clean all the frets, the fretboard, oil it, polish it all, mess with the springs, clean the pots, etc.... general maintenance to make them feel new. Today I did 3 guitars. I did a PRS SE, but I also changed the neck pickup to a Duncan Jazz, changed the color of the pickup rings, and changed the string gauge, which meant jacking with springs. I also did my Charvel, and changed the bridge pickup back to the stock Tone Zone from the Duncan Invader I had in there for years. I also did my Schecter Banshee, and changed the string gauge, which meant more spring jacking, lol.

I have been liking 9-46 in E, and 10-49 in D. I made that set by using parts of other sets, but found out EB has a 10-48 set that I will probably use in the future.

The Black Winter is more mid heavy, tight bass, tighter overall, and more compressed. The Nazgul is more chunky lows, clanky metallic upper mids/highs, less mid-mids, and slightly less compressed.

I'll probably try the black winter first. I'm also thinkng about getting a Harley Benton CST-24T, and trying it out. Seeing which I like better between it and the Aria.

I like my Black Winters, but I would like to try them in a different guitar. It was just a PITA to put them in the guitar they are in, so I don't want to change them either, lol. They are in a neckthrough maple/alder guitar, so maybe not the best choice. I would like to hear them in something that is mahogany. I know you have had the Distortion. They are like the Distortion, but more clear and hi-fi on the low end, and tighter on the low end. Less chug, but more of a solid low end, if that makes sense.

After messing with my guitars, I played for a long time yesterday. I was loving the Tone Zone. It makes me wonder why I took it out years ago, lol. It works really well in that guitar. I definitely want to try more Dimarzios. I have been all Duncan for years, so I would like to try a few Dimarzios again. I like how they are aggressive, but also smooth at the same time. It is weird. They are good for soloing, but also aggressive enough for metal rhythms. I also got my Duncan Custom/Jazz dialed in pretty good. They were sounding kind of piercing and annoying, but 1 screw turn lower, and they sounded like 200% better. It was weird. I think they are lower than all of my other pickups.

Let it sit out in sunlight for a few days, lol. Especially in this 97 degree heat!

Took back the Aria and tightmetal. I liked the Aria, but it felt a little neck heavy. And you know how I am with that. Sucks cause I liked the guitar. Had to drive across town to where they moved GC, and it was a pain to find. They were only letting 5 peeps in at a time, so I had to stand in line outside, in 96 degree weather all day. I thought I was gonna pass out lol. I don't know what i'm gonna try next.

I've never played any of the DV Mark stuff. I could never find a place around that sold it.
