I dont think the cab is a bad idea, i play a bari sometimes and wouldnt mind getting the piano-ish lows back.

i would think though that would overdrive that pickup, tho? maybe not, he does EQ kinda into the high mids.
when i saw them live, he actually had a really nice bass tone. those custom EB/MM's through a nice GK rig and it was very present in the mix.
