Post by greatmutah »

Let’s do this!

Post cost if you want. Just don’t enter a Friedman and call it budget lol.

my love for this rig knows no bounds- either with my silly cheapass pedal rig out front OR just straight in.

amp- fender frontman 25r, had it for almost 20 years. $49

lopo 112 convertible-- purchased on black friday sale empty for $149 or something equivalently absurd.

loaded with avatar g12h30 purchased used like a decade ago for $79.

oh yeah, to be fair, i blew up the input jack and replaced it myself for 6 bucks. and i spliced in an output jack with a cup i drilled in the back panel for about $4.50.

i also swapped out the speaker for a celestion ten 30. that was $35.

at 4 ohms, it puts out 50 watts, and it weighs about maybe 30 pounds and is the size of a princeton. and it's loud as shit, and bassy. yeah, whatevs, y'all can dog it all you want, but with a pair of celestions, i think if you dialed it in with your ears and threw a mic on it, it'd be pretty tough to pan.

i've recorded it a shitton on other people's records AND in demos for three of my own records.

sum total for whole rig as accounted above: $ 322.50

got dayum timex of amps!

Current bedroom rig. The ISP 2x10 sub isn't hooked up lol. Thats part of the main rig I'm just storing it underneath for now. I don't have a mancave so my gear is spreadout all over the apartment and closets where ever I can fit stuff.

Penn 5W handwired combo originally built for the Bon Jovi camp $350
Originally had Hammond Transformers and a 10" Fender Style Speaker.
Upgraded to a Celestion Alnico Blue $200
(had to chisel out part of the frame to get it to fit!)
Image
sent it back to Billy Penn for a Mercury Magnetics Transformer upgrade $200
Image
I added the shorting jack in the pic so I could series another 8 ohm speaker with the Blue.
Charvel Model 1 that surprisingly had a San Dimas '83 Charvel neck on it $150
and a GAB edition Bion Boost #6 $100

Another close one between DBN, Mamberg Jr and Itchy but ultimately Itchy won! 2 years in a row in the budget category. Killer man. PM me your address so I can send you some strings.
