Hi everyone! This is my first time here and the reason I joined is to learn more about guitars. And here is my first question:
I own a cheap guitar, between 300-500$ canadian, bought 15 years ago. Very much a rookie then.
I decided that i wanted to use it more often, so i want to change my pickups. I need 2 humbuckers and one single coil.
I play mostly Metal from the 80's (Iron Maiden, Helloween) but in both cases i prefer their 2000 and up sound.
I'd like that sound, but i still want the pickups to he versatile so i can play blues and rock.
At the store they recommended to me Seymour Duncan 59, DiMarzio Area 61 and Seymour Duncan JB.
Please give me your suggestions, and why. And your thoughts on the aformentioned combination would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to GGF, MM! I'm not much of a metal guy, so I will defer that pickup advice to someone more knowledgeable.

Re: First post and pickups question
welcome ! Sounds like a super -strat and I don't care for JB's in those Maybe a full shred instead. The 59 is good but maybe get a more bluesier single coil for the blues.

I think the store recommendations are pretty solid.
you can't go wrong with Duncans, IMO.
And Dimarzio Areas are nice too.

I should have said that i currently own a Jackson, that i put a diMarzio Super Distortion and a PAF 36th anniversary in it. I'm looking for something a bit different for my 2nd guitar.
