Thick ribeyes (olive oil, salt and pepper....simple is awesome)....and Bigass Prawns marinated in thai chile and lime juice....

Had an ok Cab too. Satek (local winery) 2009 Cab.

Extra credit to the lady too...she made the salad's vinaigrette from scratch.

Nice presentation too!

And I have to say it pisses me off that you don't weigh 350 lbs. So there.

I would, if I wasn't so damn busy, lol. Bands, bangin, and babies keep me thin!

Not to mention....this meal is pretty healthy....other than the drawn butter I dipped the prawns in....

I can't ditch the olive oil.

It's like a good glue for the seasoning. And it gets me a better hatch mark.

Love steak butters.

Whip up a stick of softened butter in the blender with 1/4 cup of Burgundy wine, and some minced shallots. roll it up in Saran wrap into a tube/wang shape and freeze it. I'll be a light purple color. Slice off pats to sit on steaks n burgers whenever, AFTER THEY'RE COOKED. I always have a tube of this in the freezer.

Same except butter rather than olive oil.

Butter has a lower flash point than olive oil. It can lead to bitterness on a hot grill. :cop:

Funnily enough, I had steak & shrimp last night too. It was a flat iron steak with brown butter hollandaise, & grilled shrimp skewer. I didn't make it myself though, we went out for mothers day with my folks and grandmother to a local seafood restaurant (http://www.owensfishcamp.com/about.cfm). The steak was super tender, and grilled to a perfect medium-rare. For the first course I had a nice tomato based whitefish stew.

My folks both had the seared scallops with braised pork over succotash and a dollop of cheese grits, and a fried green tomato salad with goat-cheese to start.

Sup Brent?!

She made an italian vinaigrette. White wine vinegar, Olive oil, and a pile of herbs. Really killer.

I knew I should have taken a picture of the bbq last night I had full of burgers and marinated/hand-rubbed chicken.

Marinade - olive oil, balsamic vinegar, white wine vinegar, cayenne, garlic, basil, ground cloves and fennel seed
Topped with 5 year aged cheddar, they were amazing. Burgers were two different kinds. My creation was meat, salt, pepper. The other was meat, oats, salsa, bbq sauce, basil and whatever else.

WTF??? That's not a diet man, that's malnutrition at its finest.

You need to figure out how many calories you burn in a day, and then eat less than that, in correct macros...There's no reason at all that you shouldn't be able to eat real food, and still hit your goals.

I feel sorry for people who think the only way to lose weight is to starve themselves...

Sounds good man, back to basics is always a good way to go with food if you're using quality ingredients.

As far as what's up, same ole, same ole man. Well, except I'm job hunting for the first time in 4 years, which kind of sucks, but truthfully I think it will be much better for me in the end. I wasn't in a good place mentally anymore with my last job. Right around the beginning of the year shit got crazy, family members of the owner stealing money (tens of thousands of $), merchant accounts getting closed, and all sorts of crazy shit I can't get into because of legal reasons as a former officer of multiple companies owned/operated by the same principal.

Aside from that hanging with the kid, trying to play a little guitar here and there, oh and my dog is going in for surgery tomorrow to remove a mass from his chest and a draining tract that's been persisting for a little over a year. I'm hoping this surgery takes care of the draining tract, because the vet said sometimes you can get the source on the first try, but sometimes it can take multiple surgeries to find it. She said she had one cat that she had to operate on 8 times before they finally found and removed the source. It's most likely caused by a foreign object that somehow got in there, usually a small piece of organic matter, like a thorn or something that their body is trying to reject, hence the constant draining trying to flush it out. That's why they don't show up on X-ray pics most of the time.

Cool man. Keep bein dad, and mojo for your dog, sir! Me and D are getting married a week from this saturday.

hahaha awesome. Pretty creative.

I stopped cooking for a few months after I got eliminated from Masterchef auditions. I was a big baby about it, and it bummed me out. Back at it now though. Me and the lady are discussing buying a food truck for something to do on weekends.
