Building my 412 cab
Here's a summarized story how I made my own 412 cab. It took me almost two months but I'm quite happy with it.

Looks like it came out great!
Those corner guards really make the tolex corners much easier, not to mention the protection they provide.

Re: Building my 412 cab
Looks great, nice job! Much better than the tolex job I did on my 2x12 cab.

Re: Building my 412 cab
I used a rolling pin to push the air bubbles out. And waited a while longer for any bubbles to resurface then pin them away.
I didn't glue at the edge of the corners to avoid overflow which would ruin the texture of the tolex.

Re: Building my 412 cab
Just for you, I weighed it. And it says: 26.9 kilos (59.304 pounds) exactly.

Re: Building my 412 cab
It sounds good. I could match a lot of tones to a lot of songs. I'm happy for now. I'm thinking of getting an Orange CR120H in the near future.

I have a 2x15 cab I started building 2 and 1/2 years ago. Never finished. No time or workplace now.
Tried emailing a local cab company about having them finish it, but no response.

Re: Building my 412 cab
I loaded it with Celestion Vintage 30s. Only bought 2 from Thomann because it's dangerous to have large magnets on an airplane. Anyways, they sound great. Even better after I changed new strings.

Great looking cab. What was your cost of construction, not including the speakers?

I'm jealous!
Looks great!
I"ve also been waiting to build a 4x12, but other things get in the way.
where did you source the handles?

Re: Building my 412 cab
Most of the tools my dad owns, so no cost there. The laminated planks are from an old wardrobe when my uncle renovated his room. I guess the money goes out to the tolex, grill cloth, jack socket, etc... probably under USD200.
The handles I was able to find them locally at a PA store for about USD15.
