Recording guitar for Heavy Metal?

Post by wesley10 »

i have a guitar and a processor which i plug in directly to my laptop, all the clean effects sound really good with the guitar rig(i don't use any effects from the processor)...but i want to record some metal riffs but i dont have a proper amp...or a mic or an interface,....i was hoping i can plug in straight from my processor and use some amp simulator to get atleast a decent distortion,,,...is it possible?,,,if it is then let me know some good amp sims..

I don't have specifics for you but yes it is possible. I've heard lots of clips from guys who use cheap or free amp sims and IR's playing direct into their ipads and shit for metal tones and several of those clips sounded great. It can be done.
