My wife and I also have been slowly working through Criminal Minds. We're on season...6 or something? I dunno, its been a long process as we just throw one on in the background if we're doing stuff on the computer or whatever. Being a network procedural its never been great television but for the most part it was fairly brainless entertainment. But man, this many seasons in its getting hilarious. For some reason they feel this desperate need to keep making the bad guys weirder, darker, or their issues more obscure. Instead of working harder to make the writing top notch its pretty much at the "well, we've already had an agent go rogue to fight a bad guy so now its time to just start delving for the wackiest killers we can think of."

Criminal Minds doesn't go quite as far as the original CSI ended up going down the path of turning into a dark parody of itself, but man does it try. By the time Fishburne shows up on CSI it's basically a sit-com without a laugh track.

Yeah, CSI got hilarious. Like, it went full on CSI:Miami without any of the winks to self-mockery. I was barely watching at that point catching an episode here and there, but it was just ludicrous.

My favorite part of CM is the "trigger." Like I get it, there are killers who have their shit together and then something happens and they snap. But its every killer "that was the trigger." Really, you want me to believe that dude held his shit together for 17 years and then one day just snaps and starts stalking and killer a certain type of person? And you want me to believe this for about half of your cases?

But like I said, brainless entertainment.

Shit always gets weird and twisted around.....it's nothing mind blowing but its a good show with a solid cast.

Season ended well and I'm glad to hear ST renewed it for another one. Eva Green straight bitch slapped the Devil last night.

"Beloved, know THY master." Was dope as hell.

Finished the season last night... man.. that was a hell of a season finale. Doom and gloom galore... not an ounce of happiness in the ending for anyone except the bloody dancing couple.

Don't want to spoil it for anyone but funny that i'm most upset about what happened in the stairwell.

I kinda dug CM until that first dude lost his shit and basically wandered off. Rossi pissed me off so much I couldn't hardly take it, and that's about the time the wife started watching it. That cute little blonde though. Even my wife's made comments about wanting to bang her. Which, being the gentleman I am, I have given her full permission so long as I'm allowed to watch and/or film it. :o

Yeah, I mean, the show's had ridiculous storylines from the beginning. They're just getting more often and dumber.

I don't mind her character...but the backstory was just gawdawful. That whole little subplot/story arc about her time with Interpol? lol LOLOLOL

And what happened to the blonde chick that replaced JJ for a bit? Her character has just disappeared. Its like the show is pretending JJ wasn't gone for like 12 episodes and the other girl was in.

I'm trying to remember. Was she the one that blew up at the end of a season or some shit, came back miraculously, without fanfare, then just wandered away and never came back? I've gone sorta stale on that show and it's become background noise for me, so the stories sometimes twist together for me.

And yeah, Prentiss's backstory was RIDICULOUS. Especially that she wasn't gonna tell anybody anything while she had like half the rest of the world trying to kill her, until it blew up in her face, then she disappeared, then she came back, then she was dead, then she was alive. Good fuck. Soap opera city.

The other blonde was a trainee who was actually a girl Rossi had rescued in an early case in his career. Her dad was a serial killer or something. And she was around for like 10 episodes while JJ did the whole DOD liason gig, and then poof, JJ is back with BAU for no reason I can remember them mentioning and other girl is just gone.

Yeah, that whole Prentiss thing was just hilarious. I mean, sure, don't tell your FB-FREAKING I team that a guy is after you because you might endanger them. HELLO do you see the job they and you do every day?

I'm sure i miss stuff because i'm only half paying attention but its just funny as the show slowly slides to the more and more ridiculous level.

OK, I think her story got wrapped up when they took down somebody that was copycatting her dad or some shit like that. She basically went potato cakes and Rossie had a breakdown over it and then the next episode JJ's back and her boyfriend is being king douche about it. At least I think that was the order that happened.

Saw the episode of It's Always Sunny where they were coaching the kids basketball teams and Charlie comes in drunk at the end as the ref. Holy fuck. Been hunting all day for a clip of that game on youtube to send to my brother in law. He'd love it. Charlie blocking shots and taking the ball down to the other basket then tossing Dennis for complaining was epic as hell.

How many seasons are there? Love Ian McShane and we are without shows currently as most of the stuff we are current with only has a few episodes left.

Though I think the Strain comes back this Sunday. Haven't decided if I think it's dogsh*t or not. Even after watching the first season.

I enjoyed the first season of The Strain. Only complaint i had was i wish they made the bad guy a little different looking in the face. Anyways, thanks for letting me know, i didn't know it was back on this weekend.

Spoiler response:
I'm not sure what's going to happen. Last week they jumped all the way forward to the "Hannibal" movie, and Lecter still hasn't been caught & put into Dr Chilton's mental hospital yet. Seems we're not gonna get to see Buffalo Bill or anything else to do with Silence in this series

Honestly, I would be ok with that. I think they are working to a pretty solid conclusion. I like how they woven the characters from the movies into the TV show yet still kept their own separate identity from the film series. It has been very trippy this season. Not sure how many episodes are left; but I think if they don't get the rights to get Buffalo Bill/Starling into the story; just wrap it up and call it good.

+1 - really liking this season, too!

I love the show. Brings back loads of memories growing up in the late 70s / early 80s with computers coming into vogue. The actors do a really great job with their parts and I enjoy many of the details in the writing and the props used.

I just have a hard time believing this show is in it for the long haul, though. Pretty much a niche segment of viewers really interested in that kind of stuff.

Liked it for the first few episodes, then it turned to crap (for me). The old man was way over the top (horrible), and the story felt way too cartoonish to me.
