cpu/mb redux

Post by fretless »

I had my motherboard in a 4u rack and it always ran hot and had crazy fan noise . Those cases have limited fan ports and are usually totally enclosed, so limited air circulation . This mb is a XL- ATX , it's an ASUS maximus extreme x38 , it's a big mb and won't fit in some cases , or you can jam it in and block a sata hook up or 2 or some other problem may get in the way . So I went big , this tower is massive and has enough room to drive a truck through . Shit be running cool now and haz disco lights.. It's an older system now Intel x9650 , win 7 64 bit . but it rocks with Cubase :thu:

That case is HUGE! I like it. I'm sick of these tiny little cases I have to halfway disassemble just to get to the component I'm after.

I hear ya , I freakin hated pulling out that stupid 4u when I needed to and it's tight in my mid tower already with a standard atx . Full tower ftmfw !
