I need a really good reverb plug in, but I don't want to spend $300.

I have it. All i can say is UAD puts out coupons and deals all the time but you have to hit it at the right time or they're gone and it goes right back up. I think i paid $225?..... but i THINK i saw it lower one time but can't remember for sure.

Gene, get the Native Power Pack from Waves. They were on sale for $120 when I bought it. The verbs in there are rad.

Broslinger, this seems like something that might be right up your alley. Do you, or someone you know, have a completely empty old aquarium? Bear with me here.
Microphone inside. Speakers on either end pressed right up against the glass. Get a lid for the aquarium if you can find one with just a hole for the mic cable. Run your mix through the speakers, pipe the mic back into the DAW. Blend to taste. You automatically get a slight predelay to keep things clear, and the reverb inside that tank will be epic as fawk.
I haven't done it in years, but the last time I did it was one of the most unholy sounding reverbs ever. And I just realized I have an empty twenty long sitting outside my recording room we use as a spare if a gecko gets sick.
Hell, I may do this when I can move around properly again.

Yeah UAD is world class but you gotta have a UAD card to use it . I swear by a free delay I use on almost every single track , they also make a reverb so try it and get the classic delay too

Something tells me Gene has tried a bunch of free shit and wants a whole other level of reverb plugin.
As far as delay though, the Native Instruments Replika is so god damn awesome and it's free. Such a cool free delay plugin.

Grab S.i.R, then find all the Lexicon reverb impulses you can. I have a bunch of Lexicon verbs that are great that i use with it..

This is the free version, which i use. Has a fair amount of latency and not quite as fleshed out, but I've found no reason to upgrade to Sir2.

How does that compare to ReaVerb in Reaper? I have downloaded some reverb impulses and use them in that plugin with good results... Just curious how SIR compares...

You've gotta grab the ValhallaRoom plugin!!
https://valhalladsp.com/shop/plugins/valhalla-room/
For me, it's basically the final word in reverb plugins.

Atm, I don't have anything like this, exactly. I might have a laundry chute right above my recording space though. I could put a mic up top?

I'm liking the sound and look of the Valhalla stuff. Have you tried the Valhalla vintage verb?

Yep, that's legit. Many stories of studios shoving a mic at the end of a hallway and leaving a door open to get an ambiance track.
