Loved Black Gives Way To Blue. The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here took a while to get into, then it just grew on me.

Just when you were disappointed how little DuVall sang up front, Jerry lets him play moar guitar leads.

I'm a Cantrell fan and he runs the AiC boat. And without him, there is no AiC.

The old stuff with Layne is just so awesome and there are so many killer songs on every album.

I do like some of the new stuff too but it is different/ On each of those two albums, there only really a few songs that i like much. On last album, this is probably my favorite track. Sure there are things production wise i would have done differently but i like the song. Also at 1st i kinda liked hollow too but it seems to st drag on too long. When i saw them live both songs sounded great with such killer sound, played very tight, and in my opinion the songs came across better then the album. I usually prefer good live music over studio recordings especially if studio recordings are a bit overproduced.

From prior album i know I like your decision and check my brain.

Yeah, its weird to me how slick production destroys the love on some music.

I just found this.. Pretty cool!

Check out "Them Bones" on DIRT or "Fear The Voices" which is from DIRT but was released as part of Music Bank and as a solo cut.

EndTime wrote:Interesting.. Kinda surprised to hear that, but who knows. I have read that it was a difficult album for them to do cause Layne was very hard to work with at the time. I took the fact that Cantrell sang more on that record, as a pretty obvious sign. And Layne's voice is technically weaker , but like any good artist, you could really feel his struggle. Which makes it perhaps the most powerful. You can feel the dirt, the grime, the needles and all that in that last one.

I agree. That was my first AIC album so i really like it. It's by far the darkest album they've done and the whole vibe of it is just creepy and reeks of depression. One of the most depressing album ever recorded, as far as major label stuff is concerned. that album got me through some tough times in my life as a teenager.
