I thought that movie was pretty good. Didn't tie up or end the way I would have liked but it was still a good flick.
I saw Fury last night. I want to say I was a little disappointed. It wasn't so much a film about WWII as it was about a story of 5 guys in a tank. It had some good scenes and a little blood and guts, but it was not even on the same level as some of the other WWII flicks I fell in love with (Saving Private Ryan is a perfect example). Decent story, decent acting - I really enjoyed Shia Labeouf in this role oddly enough. Don't expect Saving Private Ryan or you will be very let down. Good solid movie I would say...Maybe a 6/10...

finally caught Gone Girl on Saturday.... I kinda knew the basic premise of the movie going in but it was WAY better than what I expected... and to me it was a pretty great ending... I'm glad they didn't wrap it up in a neat package... left it kinda open etc

Winter Soldier - 9/10 for what it was. Not perfect, but extremely entertaining. You really don't notice how long it is even having seen it before.
Capped it with watching Losers again. On its own it's about a 7/10, but right after a Captian America movie it gets a bump for the hilariousness of the backwards tie-in. "The government did weird stuff to me."
Still an entertaining action film on its own with very few parts that make you wanna smack anybody.

^That's the Zach Braff flick, correct? I have been waiting on that one. His last one (Garden State) was excellent.
There is this one; the Owen Wilson/Zach Galifinakas one (which is pretty much dogsh*t) and a drama/comedy with Jason Bateman that is coming out. They are all kind of co-mingling in my head as they are in the same genre and have a similar title iirc.

300 rise of an empire: meh, was another 300 movie. is what it is. some cool shit, but mostly the same ol. blood effects were terrible at first. 5/10
godzilla: lot of complaints. overall enjoyable as a godzilla movie for a one time watch. plot was kind of disjointed and just kind of stuck in there. godzilla looked very traditional, which didn't really work in the modern setting to me. made him stand out as cartoonish. MOTUs could have used some work too. overall though, a fun watch when there wasn't shit else really. thought the little digs on the F-35's avionics were cute, but inconsistent. 6/10

Texas Chainsaw Part 2: 2/10
I finished it, but that is about it. Leather face was like that mongoloid from the Goonies in terms of scariness and there were too many stretches throughout the story with nothing happening. I get that they were going for the campy b-horror/comedy thing, but it just didn't do anything for me.

Can't have been worse than Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (the one with Renée Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey). That was the biggest piece of crap I ever saw.

Oblivion - 7/10
I enjoyed the last half of the movie, but the first half, establishing that, essentially, Cruise's character and his "handler" were both extreme chumps took way too long. I would spend some time ripping it apart but don't want to spoil all the completely predictable and bleedingly obvious "twists" that came up. I think I got more enjoyment out of comparing it to Beast Wars (pods falling to earth, moon destroyed, relatively unpopulated planet) and Beast Machines (Megahead = pyramid in the sky, drones almost a direct copy of Megatron's drone doctor, secretive controlling force, I could go on forever here). Somebody was clearly a Beast Transformers era fan on the production team, if not the writing team. I remembered thinking that the first time I saw a trailer for it, and it was even more obvious watching the movie.

Birdman
Fantastic. Dark and hard to swallow at times. Essentially about an actor who is only famous for his big, popcorn film franchise void of any substance. Essentially about the dread of being a nobody but being appalled by what it takes to be a sometime with a lot going on between the lines. Every actor in this gives a stellar performance. One thing i really enjoyed is that the entire film is intended to look like one seamless shot. The camera just follows the actor after a scene almost floating behind them and into another room to the next scene that is already going on.

This is the first movie that I have really wanted to see in theaters for a long time. I love Michael Keaton and the plot looks really interesting. I definitely have to free up some time to see this.

I laughed way too hard at certain parts of that movie. The toss into the ceiling fan was epic lulz.

I quite enjoyed this film. I understand why they kept it fairly slow at the start, but I liked it.
