Saw Gojira and the DTP last night

Post by K-Bizzle »

Great show.
Devy was fucking amazing. He's definitely become my favorite dude in the genre with last nights set.
He totally just does whatever he wants and calls out what the one thing that bugs me about metal (overly serious/trying to hard to be cool/etc).
Such a great show and tight as fuck.

Gojira was also amazing though I feel like they sorts blew their load within the first 5 songs or so.
They played their best and most brutal stuff early which was great but it sorta sucked the energy out of the later part if the set IMO.

Regardless they were great and very tight.
If this tour is coming ear you you should definitely check it out.
Guitars:

That's one of my biggest gripes about metal too and one of the reasons I respect Devin Townsend so much. It's not often that a metal album comes out along the lines of Ziltoid.

I doubt that this tour is coming anywhere near me, but I'd like to check it out if it did.

Saw them in Vancouver about a month ago. I didn't get the same impression of Gojira. They were solid for the whole set. They were just brutal as fuck. I'm surprised the building is still standing

DTP was..ok. At least it wasn't just white noise like the last 3 times I saw him. My friend somehow fell asleep during his set
Guitars:
ESP MX-2 White
ESP Eclipse II Vintage Black
LTD EC-1000T CTM Violet Shadow
Ibanez Acoustic: V300CW
Amps:
Fractal FM3 MKII Turbo
