The best way to vote is with your money. I'm shocked the banks got bailed out after breaking the law...And are still being bailed out with QE while thousands went through foreclosure.
So I told myself I am not going to give the large banks my money anymore. I have 27 years left on my mortgage and I am going to pay it off in 2 and a half years. I paid off all my previous loans, property/land that I bought adjacent to the house, paid my truck off, plus we have no credit cards debt etc.
The last thing I want to do is pay bank of america a 100 grand in interest over the next few decades.
I opened a credit union and all of the wife's wages are going to go into that savings account. My wages will go into our usual checking account and we will live off that. We are going to tighten our belts for a few years and enjoy life without consuming.
Plus I am saving some of my wages too. I want to pay off ANYTHING that has a link to the banks...My wifes student loan will be the last of it. It's a good feeling to get this squared up and we are both pretty excited to stick it to the man.
And on the political topic, I still have faith in politics. The liberty movement has some sane young politians coming through that are infiltrating grass roots.
Check out Justin Amash. His own party threw him out of a budget committee because he called everyone out on their shit.

Re: Anyone watching the decline of the us dollar?
Washington DC is in a protected vacuum, they have NO CLUE whats going on outside of DC or they are living in a bubble
The average home value in D.C. is up double digits in recent years, (over 10%, when most of country has lost value) i think unemlpoyment is about 3% or so in D.C., they seem to be insulted and in a bubble from the rest of us in the real world --- They may think that things are 'not that bad'
If we have to balance a budget and pay our bills (business and individuals) so should DC, its that simple to me

I'm jealous you're able to do that, but on the other hand mortgages are a good deal these days. 4% interest, a tax deduction, and who knows what will happen in the future. If these people saying major inflation is coming are right then you'd be better off not paying off your 30 year mortgage.

I paid off my mortgage last year (15 year mtg, paid off in 12). I can't possibly see a scenario where it would be better for me to still have a mortgage. Getting a short-term mtg and paying off even faster was the best financial decision of my life. Inflation or no inflation, I own the fucking place now and don't really have to worry about shit.

No he's right. I know plenty of people think the world owes them because they went to college or something. Losing jobs all the time because they just don't feel like showing up every day. Think they should be paid beaucoup bucks and not have to deal with bullshit all day long. Mad and frustrated because other people make money, when they should be looking in the mirror. Yes the system is unfair but that's no excuse for giving up.

I'm not saying he's wrong. I wouldn't mind a career change where I can actually make decent money.

I work for a major UK investment bank.
Tough times are coming, let me tell you that. All linked to national debt. When I give people a summary of whats about to happen, I often get the response, "yeah but you can't be sure..."
Unfortunately, its no an opinion, the shit IS about to hit the fan, its a fact, not an opinion, and the governments and banks are all preparing for it right now.

I have owned my own business for 10 years this June and the worst times I have had were around 5 years ago,but since then my overall income into my business has been on a steady rise. Hopefully it stays that way. I just hear allot of people bitching about economy, Obama, and all these things that I know exist, but sometimes I can't help to think allot of people are just lazy and misinformed.

So you're one of the crookedest mother f*#(ker$ here then?

Biggest sham in the world is banking, former banker here. You want to be vertically stacked to show no $ made while living HIGH on the hog & getting more back in taxes than you paid in, what we did. Want to launder money, easy done too. State endorse Ponzi scheme is all that banking is.
All the pending collapse does is continue the stranglehold of money and power that the few have.
Marshredder, not looking to put you or job on the spot, but where is your bank leveraged? I mean really leveraged, not the book response leveraged.
When I couldn't take the lies any longer, meaning after they gutted my commission and quadrupled my numbers to get paid that gutted commission
