New rig day! No more Duncan. Today it is revealed

Post by Dave »

Ok, it's not really a secret, nor does anyone care.

However is sounds amazing

Image

Orange or50 with an orange ppc412c

I got an offer to start a kick ass new band and as such I regained a rehearsal room. Obviously that meant it was time for a new amp.

In fact, I decided to be stupid with it since I'm the only guitar player.

I'm running:

Guitar - tuner - sunface - sunbender - Analogman Chorus (on its way) - A/B/Y box split to:

Rig A: Marshall 2554 with POG2 and Boss RC-3 in the loop through old Marshall 1960

Rig B: carbon copy (to be replaced by Skreddy Echo) in to OR50 and ppc412c

Why?

Because finding a bass player sucks. So I will be looping bass/synth lines through the Marshall and playing over it through the Orange.

Winning? Yes

Thanks bros. I was pretty disappointed that I was skipping the or50 for the second year in a row, especially after playing one a couple weeks back.

When my buddy called about the band I damn near ordered it on the spot. The 4x12 came up on Craigslist for a steal and shit got real.

Billy - I posted a quick vid on the FB group but its a shitty YouTube clip.

We are moving in to the lockout on Sunday where I'll mic both amps and record a clip or two :thu:

I love me a good bass player, but agree finding them can be a pain in the ass. I'm lucky to know a bunch of good ones here, happy new rig day!

LOL

Man, that will be with me a while. The best part about this rig is I can break it down to the jubilee combo by itself and still do the same shit.

Plus I prefer it's tone to the 2555 for my stuff, and I can carry it in one hand with guitar in the other to quick jams.

I may end up using the 2555 if the 50 watt combo can't keep up with the low end from the pog. We'll see.

LOL!!! Just mentioned to Mrs. Drae this afternoon that as soon as we replace the Mustang w/ an SUV, I'mma need a 1960ax cab (with that lovely basketweave  ) ... Of course, she said, "Honey, I have no idea what all those words & numbers mean." :p

But yeah, I gotta get a 4x12. :sarge:
